Read previewOn Tuesday, Elon Musk's X fulfilled his promise to sue advertisers over their boycotting of the platform. GARM creates frameworks to provide common definitions around areas like hate speech and misinformation; it's voluntary whether advertisers use them. It doesn't rank platforms on these issues, and its role isn't to advise advertisers on where to spend their dollars. US advertisers are also protected by the First Amendment to spend or not spend on whichever media platforms they please. If the X suit moves into the discovery phase, there could be a whole lot more.

However, when we relocated to the UK, as an educator myself, I knew that I wanted an International Baccalaureate (IB) education for all of my children moving forward. Our twins, both now 18, have just completed their final year of the IB program and will attend university. In those middle years at school, children are supposed to be focussing on learning and developing key skills. The IB has prepared my children better for universityWhile my older twins have found the IB challenging, the program has also nurtured their passion for learning, encouraging their intellectual curiosity. This is because an IB school gets students involved in group projects, independent research, and advanced writing assignments throughout their education.

Taylor told me that strength training now makes up 90% of her routine. Gyms are quickly becoming Gen Z's favorite hangout spot — but there's just one problem with the fitness boom. Chains like Planet Fitness rely on members never showing up; the gyms aren't built for Gen Z. Planet Fitness, the most popular gym franchise in the US, has on average 6,500 members per gym.

Pelvic floor issues are commonOverall, nearly a quarter of women in the United States develop pelvic floor issues, according to the National Institutes of Health. Regular physical activity is essential for overall health and can be safely maintained with proper modifications and attention to pelvic floor health. Why focus on pelvic floor healthGiven the prevalence and impact of these issues, maintaining pelvic floor health is vital to a good quality of life. But here’s the good news — pelvic floor health can be improved with the right care at the right time — sooner rather than later. And Kegels, which strengthen pelvic floor muscles, aren’t the only essential pelvic floor exercises.

The American Red Cross is facing an emergency blood shortage after the national supply fell by more than 25% since July 1. The organization said Monday that extreme temperatures and oppressive heat waves impacted almost 100 blood drives last month, in almost every state where the Red Cross collects blood. Blood donations typically slow down during the summer because of travel and other seasonal activities, but the Red Cross said extreme heat exacerbated the challenge, contributing to a shortfall of more than 19,000 blood donations in July. Type O blood is routinely in short supply because type O positive is the most common blood type, and type O negative is the universal blood type needed for emergency transfusions. Those who donate by Aug. 31 will receive a $20 Amazon gift card, the Red Cross said.

The dissolved calcium carbonate then reacts with the CO2 in the water to form bicarbonate salts, locking the CO2 away. Adkins says that with a full-scale reactor, he aims to capture and store about half of a ship’s CO2 emissions. BAR Technologies/Cargill French company Airseas has developed the Seawing, which it says could help ships cut their carbon emissions by an average of 20%. A British company called Seabound, for example, makes a device that captures between 25% and 95% of a ship’s CO2 emissions. “We think that ships are actually going to be able to compete with underground CO2 storage,” he said.

In its simplest form, the yen carry trade has investors borrowing cheap yen to invest in higher yielding assets, often currencies. For example, because there is not a central source to track currency trades, we have no idea how big the yen carry trade is. The yen is rising, and that is making the yen carry trade less profitable. If the yen goes from 155 to 145, which is where it traded Monday, it will take $68,965 to repay that 10 million yen (10 million yen divided by 145 = $68,965). For companies like Costco, Starbucks, and Dicks Sporting Goods, which have robust and well-established loyalty programs, a common thread is that rewards members are the biggest spenders. "For price-conscious consumers, loyalty programs provide opportunities to spend more comfortably thanks to discounts and deals." And Dick's has said loyalty members who also use its fast-growing youth sport management software spend twice as much with the retailer than loyalty members who don't. Beauty store chain Ulta, which already has its Ultamate Rewards program, is testing a complimentary program that includes 42 mini-games, Glossy reported in May. Of course, effective loyalty programs aren't just about encouraging existing members to spend more, they also depend on getting more casual shoppers to sign up.
