The industrial meat industry takes a terrible toll on the planet and animal welfare, and cultivated meat enthusiasts have long argued the only alternative is to provide consumers with facsimiles of the real stuff. In the essay, one alt-meat die-hard compared the solution to this dilemma to two hypothetical runners, one, representing cultivated meat. These solutions need the boosterism — and the billions of dollars — cultivated meat has benefited from.

President Joe Biden and his administration are continuing their efforts to provide student debt relief to as many borrowers as possible. At this point in the process — which involves a number of discussions with various stakeholders including borrowers, advocacy groups, lawmakers and more — the rulemaking committee has identified five groups of borrowers who should be considered for debt relief. It struggled to come to an agreement on how to define hardship that would render a borrower eligible for relief. As a result, the administration extended negotiation talks and added sessions in February to address the question of hardship. You may notice there aren't explicit thresholds listed for things like "household income" or when considering debt to income ratios.

Ayana Dunlap has been working in tech since 2020. Even though she doesn't have the job she wanted as a kid, Dunlap found a different vocation she loves: technology. Dunlap didn't consider turning her knack for computers into her career until she was laid off from her sales job in June 2020. While working there, Dunlap was tasked with helping organizations prepare to return to the office, by setting up their desktops, routers and printers on-site. Some of the skills that helped Dunlap transition into tech without a bachelor's degree included oft skills she learned while working in hotels, namely, communication and customer service.

CNN —In a country best known for its soaring skyscrapers, modern architecture and sprawling desert, wildlife isn’t always what comes to mind when people think of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Originally from India, Karingattil moved to Dubai 17 years ago and began photographing wildlife shortly after, specializing in macro photography, using extreme close ups. With the UAE’s president recently extending the country’s “Year of Sustainability” into 2024, Karingattil uses wildlife photography as a method of capturing the country’s biodiversity and sharing it with others. For Karingattil, conservation is an important aspect of wildlife photography, which he believes can serve as a powerful tool for advocacy. “By removing litter and debris, we can reduce the impact of human activities on the natural world.”
