This is while S&P 500 valuations remain high, putting the market at risk for big declines. In a September note, Wolfenbarger shared the below chart from Bank of America showing 19 of 20 valuation measures they monitor as being overvalued. That means the S&P 500 would have to fall 60% just to return to the historical average. But it's still unclear how accurate the September jobs data is. Future revisions and further lackluster jobs data could resume investor fears that a downturn is a serious potential threat.

The Supreme Court may soon consider two cases that could dismantle limits on how close protesters can be to people at abortion clinics and other health care facilities. Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, three abortion clinics have opened in Carbondale. “You can’t have protests on the steps of the Supreme Court,” he said. Neither petition has been scheduled to be discussed by the Supreme Court justices. The prospect of installing a new roof atop Tropicana Field comes at a difficult time for local governments, which are already committed to building a new Rays stadium in time for the 2028 season. So whatever investment is put into Tropicana Field now would be used by the Rays for only three more seasons. A rep for the company that installed the stadium’s roof, Geiger Engineers, did not return messages from NBC News seeking comment Thursday. That roof was “well past its intended service life,” Geiger Engineers principal David Campbell told the newspaper. Tropicana Field opened to the public in 1990 and still had its original roof.

But Putin is not the only foreign leader Trump is talking to. And it is hardly unusual for a presidential nominee to begin holding some talks with foreign leaders. After the first attempt to assassinate Trump, in July, foreign leaders quickly moved to offer him their well-wishes. Trump has hosted Netanyahu and his wife, Sara, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, former Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso and former British Prime Minister David Cameron when he was the U.K.’s foreign secretary. Katulis was referring to the trove of classified documents Trump kept from his time in office that have become the subject of a criminal case, many of them about his communications with foreign leaders.

Job seekers often face a tougher tech job market; firms are demanding more entry-level roles. Tech veteran David Jolles previously told BI that he'd moved to the Atlanta area after about four decades in Silicon Valley. He previously told BI that, little surprise, people who want to nail a job interview should make sure they're prepared. Beyond that, he said, job candidates should have stories ready about topics like a successful project they completed or a career highlight.

Wiles then made the formal request for additional security with acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe on September 30, according to an email reviewed by CNN. The requests from Trump’s campaign also include access to Camp David vehicles for Trump’s primary motorcade as well as access to other military assets, such as drones with thermal monitoring. Security resources are also often determined on a case-by-case basis, one administration official said. The Secret Service has increased its presence around Trump, adding members to his detail and taking extra precautions, often traveling with a counter assault team. Secret Service agents previously assigned to desk jobs or other posts also have also been brought into the rotation to protect Trump.

"As long as the big three PBMs go unchecked, more pharmacy deserts will appear," Rochol said. Between 2023 and 2024, independent pharmacies in the CVS Caremark pharmacy network were reimbursed 67.5% higher on average than CVS Pharmacy locations, and 51.9% higher than other chain pharmacies in the state. The CVS spokesman also said that CVS pharmacies are not all serviced by Caremark, working with over 70 different PBMs. "There are unfortunately many factors for pharmacy closures in rural areas, including population declines and the growing use of online pharmacies." But Banas believes the pharmacy deserts will only grow, and lead to an increase the number of apps and digitization.

Thomas Gnoske, a collections manager at the museum, first spotted thousands of hairs trapped within the lions’ teeth when he examined their skulls in the 1990s. “Our analysis showed that the historic Tsavo lions preyed on giraffe, human, oryx, waterbuck, wildebeest, and zebra, and we also identified hairs that originated from lions. The Tsavo lions were maneless, like this adult male lion. The combined efforts opened a treasure trove of data about the lions’ prey as well as about the predators themselves. “It suggests that the Tsavo lions may have either traveled farther than previously believed, or that wildebeest were present in the Tsavo region during that time,” de Flamingh said.

Jamie Dimon said he expects to stay at JPMorgan "for a long period" rather than join the government. One way that Dimon might do that after stepping down as CEO is to stay on as chairman. "I intend to be doing what I'm doing — I almost guarantee I'll be doing this — for a long period of time, or at least until the board kicks me out," he said. (The firm has previously said it intends to separate the CEO and chairman roles after Dimon steps down.) Investors who fear stubborn inflation, if not an outright rebound, got a bit of a salve on Friday morning. Wholesale prices showed no change month over month for September, coming in below expectations. The producer price index report may help offset some of the slight concerns about Thursday's consumer price index report, which was a bit hotter than expected. The personal consumption expenditures price index for September will be released on Oct. 31.
