“I choked under the pressure of those evaluative eyes on me,” she recounted in a TEDMed talk in 2017. And in a career in academic governance, she prioritized students’ mental health. A few days before that address, Beilock was shown some data that confirmed her resolve to focus on wellness. It came from David Blanchflower, an economics professor at Dartmouth who has developed an academic specialty in happiness and well-being. But the mental health of young people has deteriorated.

But the amount of cybersecurity expertise on boards remains relatively low, at a time when boards are under increased scrutiny for security failings. In responses to that survey from 472 corporate board directors, 76% said their board had at least one cybersecurity expert, including 19% who said their board had at least three directors with cybersecurity expertise. Organon is an undervalued global play and leader in women's specialty health, according to Barclays. The company, with a portfolio of about 60 treatments and products focused on women's health, was spun off from Merck in 2021 . Barclays analyst Balaji Prasad initiated coverage on Organon with an overweight rating. The company could also generate more than $1 billion in annual free cash flow during that span, he added. Organon's prescription birth control Nexplanon is the key driver to its women's health portfolio as the Nexplanon "pipeline continues to progress toward commercialization," he added.

Stutzman, also an attorney, took over as chief negotiator for the Writers Guild on Feb. 28, just two weeks before contract talks began. It follows Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the loss of Moscow's cheap natural gas — an unprecedented shock to Germany’s energy-intensive industries, long the manufacturing powerhouse of Europe. The loss of cheap Russian natural gas needed to power factories “painfully damaged the business model of the German economy,” Kullmann told The Associated Press. One hotly debated solution: a government-funded cap on industrial electricity prices to get the economy through the renewable energy transition. However, squabbling among the coalition government over the energy price cap and a law barring new gas furnaces has exasperated business leaders. “The perception of Germany's underlying strength may also have contributed to the misguided decisions to exit nuclear energy, ban fracking for natural gas and bet on ample natural gas supplies from Russia,” he said.

As a financial planner, I have to be honest with you and say passive income is a bit of a myth. This is a realistic, achievable, and accessible way for most people to build passive income. Start a business (or invest in one)You can create passive income if you can build a business that operates without you. This path to passive income is one of the most narrowly available to a small group of people, though. But if your goal is passive income, earning royalties provides an avenue to achieving that for your future self.

Zafar turned to his microscope – a canonically beloved tool in pathology that the doctors rely on to help make their diagnoses. It's an artificial intelligence-powered microscope built by Google and the U.S. Department of Defense. The AI-powered tool is called an Augmented Reality Microscope, or ARM, and Google and the Department of Defense have been quietly working on it for years. When a glass slide is prepared and fixed under the microscope, the AI is able to outline where cancer is located. For many smaller health systems, digitization is not yet worth the hassle.

If Dr. Choi’s mother had a specialty, it was her encyclopedic knowledge of Korean ceremonial foods like yakgwa and how to present them. That’s why the recent commercialization of the cookie, with its ubiquity among young people who respect the tradition enough to reinterpret it, has delighted Dr. Choi. Today, Koreans enjoy yakgwa outside of those rites of passage, like as an after-school snack or weekday dessert with vanilla ice cream. When fresh, the cookie’s sticky, amber syrup should drip off slowly, drenching your fingers, like Winnie the Pooh’s paw, in honey. A budding ecosystem of companies stand to gain as businesses and policymakers grow increasingly focused on improving the electric grid. President Joe Biden committed $95 million to shore up Hawaii's electric grid following the tragedy. Beyond that, Kalton said it's also just good business sense: Utility companies don't want their grids to go down and leave unhappy customers without power. The AI model is training on an unprecedented amount of data that includes billions of images, according to a release . Paige also built an AI model that can help pathologists identify breast cancer, colon cancer and prostate cancer when it appears on the screen. But in order to expand its operations and build an AI tool that can identify more cancer types, Paige turned to Microsoft for help. Over the past year and a half, Paige has been using Microsoft's cloud storage and supercomputing infrastructure to build an advanced new AI model. Arm kicked off its roadshow in Baltimore, where influential asset manager T Rowe Price is headquartered, underscoring the fund manager's significance in big IPOs. Arm disclosed the proposed range would value it at between $48 billion and $52 billion. The valuation that Arm is chasing represents a climb-down from the $64 billion valuation at which SoftBank last month acquired the 25% stake it did not already own in the company from its $100 billion Vision Fund. Jamie Mills O’Brien, portfolio manager at British fund manager Abrdn, said he found SoftBank's valuation ask in the IPO "more palatable than initially discussed." Unlike most loss-making but high-growth tech companies that debut with lofty valuations but later plummet below list price, Arm is profitable.
