For Brad Svrluga, cofounder and general partner of VC firm Primary, venture deals are ramping up. Here's why he thinks this new normal is good for founders, who need to set "rational expectations." Startup founders and venture capitalists across the country have begun to see signs of a fall comeback after the first summer slowdown in two years. In 2021, the hyper-competitiveness of the market meant that VCs were offering some startups term sheets in a matter of minutes. Still, for early-stage founders looking to raise today, the days of easy money and competing term sheets are gone.

But, they said, if Republicans win one or both chambers, that would likely trigger a quicker pivot to a Biden re-election campaign. Relying on the party apparatus would allow the Biden campaign to forgo trying to build up its own separate campaign infrastructure in each state. But while a DNC-centric campaign might seem to be a natural fit for Biden, relying on the committee poses risks. “The Biden approach is the more traditional approach.”Far more than Obama, Biden is a creature of the Democratic Party. Biden aides say no final decisions on campaign staffing have been made, and they’re not expected to be until after the midterms.

As CEO of Patagonia, Ryan Gellert wrestles with a paradox: The outdoor-gear maker's good works, philanthropy, and intentions are still not enough to justify its existence. To Gellert, who took over from the widely respected Rose Marcario, the company could always be doing more. And we need business to step up. Patagonia really struggled in Europe, and that never made sense to me. One of the things that I love more than anything about Patagonia is that we are an unapologetically for-profit business.

Smith — who rented her apartment unseen before a cross-country move from Texas — told Insider she fell victim to misleading photos and an inaccurate description of her Manhattan apartment on a popular apartment hunting site. Adam & Paul (2004)Este filmul de debut al regizorului Irlandez Lenny Abrahamson, cunoscut mai târziu pentru filmele „Frank” și Room. But even though she only pays $600 a month for rent, she still plans to buy a house with higher costs in the next five years because she wants to feel like she's really home. (Two years ago, I left that job and was able to move back into my friend's home for the job I'm in now, as a magazine editor in the superyacht industry.) If all goes according to plan, we will save up enough money to buy a house within the next five years. After the wedding takes place, we'll save between $1,000 and $1,200 each month to put towards a house. But I have also lived the easygoing life of a renter and it's been an ideal scenario for me.
So when Yale released its happiness class for free online, I decided to give it a try. The 10-week class, called "The Science of Well-Being," is taught by Laurie Santos, a professor of psychology and cognitive science. She starts the class by addressing why the things we want in life don't actually make us happy. Money ≠ happiness. Be more mindful about how you spend moneyLater in the class, Santos interviews Elizabeth Dunn, a happiness researcher and the co-author of "Happy Money."
He had identified a suspect in a lineup; he had involved his own brothers in his coverup; he failed to confess his guilt even in his suicide note. (Mr. Severino and TV reporter Jack Harper help reconstruct the search for Stuart’s car, which was accomplished by triangulating emergency sirens over police radios; it is electrifying.) Stuart claimed the killer fled into the nearby Mission Hill housing project. From that moment, says activist and Mission Hill resident Ron Bell , “it was open season on black people.”
