For many Indian Americans and many Anglo Indians like me, Ramaswamy’s line of attack might not seem particularly surprising. If anything, armed Black protesters such as the Black Panthers triggered cries for stronger gun control laws, not looser ones. He’s a very smart man, blessed with superior communication skills, yet he constantly exposes his ignorance, his cynicism or both. The bottom line is this: When a political class still broadly believes in policing dishonesty, the nation can manage the negative effects of widespread civic ignorance. WASHINGTON, Aug 30 (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden on Wednesday said no one could deny that the world is facing a climate crisis, after Hurricane Idalia plowed through the Big Bend region of Florida and forced millions of residents to evacuate. "I don't think anybody can deny the impact of the climate crisis anymore," Biden told reporters at the White House. Some Republican lawmakers, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is running to win the Republican presidential nomination, continue to oppose a slew of measures aimed at curbing emissions. Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy called "the climate agenda" a "hoax" during last week's GOP debate. On Tuesday, she told reporters that extreme storms were part of a "new normal" that Americans are facing, adding that investments in resilience and mitigation were critical to prepare for future storms.

Donald Trump's campaign has raked in $9.4 million since his historic mugshot was released. The former president's campaign has sold over $1 million in t-shirts emblazoned with the mugshot. Of that special merchandise, they sold 36,000 T-shirts for more than $1.7 million. The campaign also sold 8,600 mugshot posters for another $352,000. Trump's 2020 campaign even made just shy of $500,000 by trolling liberals who wanted to ban plastic straws.
