Younger adults are less worried about financial fraud than are older generations, a recent study found. Only 15% of Gen Z and 20% of millennials are concerned about falling victim to stolen money or assets through deceptive tactics, according to a Bank of America Better Money Habits survey of 1,000 respondents. By comparison, about 27% of Gen X and 27% of baby boomers feel at risk of fraud. But that doesn't mean younger generations can't experience severe consequences, said Matt Schulz, chief credit analyst at LendingTree. Financial fraud is a really big deal and can be really impactful," Schulz said.

In 2024, the platform is poised for more growth - and LinkedIn creators will play a major role in its development. Most of that content comes from LinkedIn creators, many of whom have built strong followings and some of whom are monetizing their audiences. "Cringe" can be lucrativeHeavy LinkedIn users aren't just older, they're also well-educated. While LinkedIn has long been central to B2B social marketing strategies, B2C marketers are increasing investment, driving up ad prices and spending.

Over 90% of Gen Zers and millennials said they're considering leaving their jobs, per a LinkedIn survey. The increase reflects young workers' desire for higher pay — but also confidence in the labor market. But as this uncertainty recedes, many young Americans appear ready to jump back into the job market. While these desires were prevalent among all generations, young Americans had the highest expectations for a pay bump in 2024. If young workers don't receive the raises or promotions they expect, this could provide them with additional motivation to leave their employers.

There was not a single issue that young men cared about significantly more than young women. There was not a single issue that young men cared about significantly more than young women. Most young men are probably not interested in making America great again, but they do feel acutely the need to secure a place for themselves in a culture that readily identifies male advantage but ignores the challenges young men face. The end of workplace loyalty

Do that, and you generate the kind of trust and loyalty that leads to high productivity and low turnover. A world in which the psychological contract is profoundly broken. In the three decades following World War II, as Rick Wartzman documents in his book " The End of Loyalty ," a booming economy made American companies rich. Today, disillusioned workers might assume that the norm of workplace loyalty was nothing but a capitalistic ruse, a way for companies to exploit their employees. But the new loyalty would recognize that employees have to uphold their end of the bargain.

It’s a decline not seen around the rest of the developed world, where higher education is expanding. Provide universal low-cost child careFrom my vantage point, the single highest barrier to Millennial economic stability is child care. The reasons behind that are complex, but cost is certainly among them: The United States has some of the highest child care costs in the world. Affordable, high-quality, universal child care helps mothers, and particularly low-income mothers, to stay in the workforce, which pays dividends for their families. Child care programs help to prepare kids for school and may keep them more active and socially engaged.

Crying at Work and Other Experiments in Emotion

Recently, one of my younger lab members confronted me about how she feels she can’t be her full self at work, in part because she doesn’t feel comfortable crying publicly in our lab space. She also said she thinks we should talk about our feelings and share more about our personal lives. You can foster an emotionally open environment while making it clear that your lab is a professional workplace. Work has to get done and, ideally, that work should be done in a space where people feel safe, seen and respected, while also being held to a standard of excellence. Ask her why she thinks you should talk about your feelings and share more.

Luis Alvarez | Digitalvision | Getty ImagesWhile rent payments do not traditionally affect your credit, a growing number of so-called rent-reporting services are trying to change that. But these services don't all operate the same way, and some may have less value for renters. There are also services geared to landlords that offer rent reporting for tenants, including ClearNow, Esusu and PayYourRent. Landlords usually shoulder the cost of these programs, but there may be processing fees depending on how you make your rent payments. When rent payments are included in credit reports, consumers see an average increase of nearly 60 points to their credit score, according to a 2021 TransUnion report.

He cited relatively affordable homes and a free, clean, high-quality life as two of Texas' draws. The Cut reports that Stanleys have become the new status symbols for middle school girls. Middle school is when kids can be ruthless about who has or doesn't have some arbitrary status symbol, whether it's Uggs or folding the waistband of your gym shorts the right way. Gen Z have watched on as millennials struggled through economic hardships including multiple recessions and a pandemic which have put a dent in their income and dreams of home ownership. Gen Z has often received flak for their flippant attitude to work, with one survey last year finding that 74% of managers say they're the most challenging generation to work with. However, Gen Z are, in fact, facing setbacks because of high levels of inflation and rising prices.

After all their economic misfortune, they'll still face a turbulent housing market and potentially tens of thousands of dollars' worth of necessary updates to boomers' aging houses. In his 2022 paper, "Who will buy the baby boomers' homes when they leave them? ", Engelhardt argued that mass aging would send ripples through the housing market but fail to push down prices significantly. After that point, demand for home purchases will once again outpace supply as millennials buy more homes and younger generations, like Gen Z and Gen Alpha, file in behind them. The timing of boomers' exit will mostly benefit younger generations, like Gen Z and Gen Alpha, who should find themselves on steadier footing than their predecessors.

With CDs, you deposit a specific amount of money for a fixed period of time — months or years — at a guaranteed rate of interest. While you can't prematurely withdraw those funds without paying a penalty, the trade-off is that CDs tend to offer higher interest rates than most savings accounts. That's much higher than the average annual percentage yield you'll find for traditional savings accounts, which was 0.57% as of Jan. 16, 2024, per Bankrate. While high-yield savings might offer APRs more comparable to CDs, you can often find CDs with slightly higher rates. Some CDs also offer higher yields than one-year Treasury bonds, which are comparably safe investments.
