CNBC's Jim Cramer gave investors his take on the valuation of Astera Labs , a company that went public last week and sells data center connectivity chips to cloud and artificial intelligence outfits. To Cramer, the stock debuted too hot and is more expensive than it should be at this point. "While Astera Labs has a good story — and it is good, I think it'd be worth owning at some price — I think it's way too expensive at this price," he said. Last week, Wall Street was buzzing about Reddit 's long-awaited initial public offering, but Cramer found Astera Labs to be intriguing. However, Cramer said he felt positive about some aspects of the business, saying if Astera Labs can keep putting up sales growth, it's headed in the right direction.

This is a story about one of modern life’s least consequential but most acutely annoying experiences: getting a sufficient number of capers out of those dollhouse-size jars they’re sold in. Capers are expensive, so producers sell them in smaller jars to make each unit more affordable. Why such narrow jars? Skinny jars just look nicer, Mezzetta says. Donald Trump's social media platform Truth Social is set to go public next week. Truth Social, a platform developed by former president Donald Trump, has finally secured approval to merge with its shell company Digital World Acquisition Corp. After all, many DWAC investors don't appear to be trading on fundamentals, especially as Truth Social isn't reputed for high usage or revenue. Social Truth user KookyBar said after the merger, writing in a forum dedicated to DWAC. At a price of $40, the newly formed Truth Social entity would be worth more than $5 billion, with Trump owning a majority of the stock.

While occupying very different corners of the technology market, Reddit and Astera were the first notable venture-backed tech companies to go public in the U.S. since Instacart and Klaviyo in September. Morgan Stanley was the big winner among banks, having captured the coveted lead left spot on both IPOs. Goldman Sachs led last year's only two big venture-backed offerings, meaning it had been a long dry spell for Morgan Stanley. In the past two years, there have only been 15 tech IPOs total, according to research provided by University of Florida finance professor Jay Ritter. That came after a booming market in 2021, when 121 tech companies went public, the most since the dot-com bubble in 2000.

"Advertising on Reddit is rapidly evolving, and we are still in the early phases of growing this business," Reddit wrote in its IPO filing. The company said advertisers were attracted to Reddit due to its "high-intent" audience, much of which is hunting for product recommendations. And elsewhere, Reddit doesn't have the kind of e-commerce structure that Meta, TikTok, and Google have built, experts said. It has poached ad talent from companies like Pinterest and Meta to grow its ad business. Also last year, Jim Squires, a former longtime Meta ad exec, joined Reddit in a new role as EVP of business marketing and growth.
