CNN —It’s not the diamonds or the pearls that make Beyoncé that girl, but fashion is a critical part of what’s made her Renaissance World Tour unforgettable. In celebration of her seventh album of the same name, Beyoncé’s first solo tour in seven years featured a wardrobe fit for a queen. For me, during her Renaissance tour she is Queen B Beyond, a timeless queen that moves in a dazzling constellation.”“This ethereal and futurist femininity complements and extends her other looks in the tour that beautifully highlight other aspects of feminine empowerment,” van Herpen added. JetBlue Airbus A321LR is displayed at the 54th International Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airport near Paris, France, June 20, 2023. "In so doing, the Dutch government stands in flagrant violation of the U.S.-EU Air Transport Agreement," JetBlue said in its complaint. The move essentially closed Schiphol to new entrants, JetBlue said. New entrants such as JetBlue are facing a completely closed market and 100% expulsion from the market," the company said. Airlines that use Schiphol including Air France-KLM (AIRF.PA) have sued to try to prevent the cap at one of Europe's busiest airports.

We are growing but nowhere near fast enough," said Ben Blackwell, CEO of the Global Wind Energy Council. In June, Siemens Gamesa said quality problems at its two most recent onshore wind turbines would cost 1.6 billion euros ($1.7 billion) to fix. "The ratio between risk and reward is out of line in the offshore wind market in many jurisdictions. You can see this from investors not showing up," the Global Wind Energy Council's Blackwell told Reuters. "The situation in U.S. offshore wind is severe," Orsted CEO Mads Nipper said last month.

Dutch insurers' shares hit by unfavourable court ruling
  + stars: | 2023-09-27 | by ( ) www.reuters.com   time to read: +2 min
AMSTERDAM, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Shares of Dutch insurers took a hit on Wednesday as a court ruling in a years-long fight over investment-linked products re-opened the prospect of large compensation claims. NN Group (NN.AS) traded down 13.5% at 0750 GMT in Amsterdam, while fellow Dutch insurer ASR (ASRNL.AS) fell 8.6%, as NN warned of the possibly "material adverse effect" of the interim court ruling. NN Group and other Dutch insurers have been dealing with issues related to these insurance policies, popularly known as "woekerpolissen" for years. "This also has impact for the legal cases against other Dutch insurers, who all sold similar unit-linked products at the time," KBC analysts wrote in a note. Between 2008 and 2010, Dutch insurers collectively paid clients about 3 billion euros ($3.2 billion) in compensation over similar policies, but several consumer groups have since filed suits arguing the compensation was too low.

Ajax were trailing 3-0 in the second half when the game was initially suspended in the 56th minute before being abandoned. It was only the second time Feyenoord had scored four goals away against traditional rivals Ajax and took them up to third in the standings. The defeat adds pressure on new coach Maurice Steijn whose future has been the subject of much speculation. Ajax, who have had a poor start to the season with just one win, sit 14th in the 18-team league. They finished third last season and failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 13 seasons.

This is driving up mortgage rates after years of lower-rate policies, crushing affordability and sinking home prices in some metropolitan areas. In the note, the pair released UBS's most reading of its Global Real Estate Bubble Index. Two cities — Zurich and Tokyo — top the list and are considered to be in "bubble risk" territory by being at least 1.5 standard deviations out of their index norm (Zurich at 1.71 and Tokyo at 1.65). UBS"Such high multiples come from an excessive appreciation of housing prices in the wake of previously low interest rates," Saputelli and Holzhey said. Benefiting from the highest interest rates since 2008, pension funds are better funded to meet future payouts than they have been in years. Because insurers hold a lot less government debt than pension funds, favouring higher-return assets such as corporate debt, they are expected to sell some of the gilts they receive. It is selling 240 billion pounds of debt this year, a record, save for 2020-21. Helped by the pension fund demand of past years, Britain's average debt life is around 15 years, more than double the U.S. and Germany's. Britain has already started skewing its funding towards shorter debt this year, citing high borrowing needs, a move investors reckon also reflects declining pension fund appetite.

BRUSSELS, Sept 20 (Reuters) - European Union's second-top court on Wednesday backed an EU competition regulator's decision against a 700-million-euro ($748 million) Belgian tax scheme for 55 multinationals, in a major win for EU antitrust chief's crackdown on sweetheart tax deals. The Luxembourg-based General Court had in 2019 annulled Margrethe Vestager's decision after Belgium and about 30 of the companies challenged it. Beneficiaries of the Belgian scheme that dated from 2005 included U.S. manufacturer Magnetrol, oil company BP (BP.L), chemical producer BASF (BASFn.DE), Wabco, Cellio, Atlas Copco (ATCOa.ST) and Belgacom, now Proximus (PROX.BR) . The Tencent stake that it owns made up about 75% of the group’s $130 billion portfolio value as of Sept. 15. I learned to roller skate. I used the skate key to affix the metal skates to the soles of my red oxfords, a worn-out pair of shoes my mother held in reserve for playing outside. Autoworkers put down their toolsThousands of autoworkers walked off the job on Friday morning at three Midwest plants in an unprecedented strike, as the United Automobile Workers and Detroit’s three big carmakers remained miles apart on contract talks. A lengthy strike could dent the Big Three’s profits, analysts say, at a time when the companies are investing heavily in electric vehicles to catch up to Tesla and Chinese rivals. Mary Barra, G.M.’s chief, warned that meeting all or most of the union’s demands could hobble the company’s prospects. “Make no mistake: If we don’t continue to invest, we will lose ground, and it will happen fast,” she said. “Nobody wins in a strike.”
