Jodi Jacobson | E+ | Getty ImagesMore than 18 million rental units are located in areas exposed to extreme weather hazards, according to the American Rental Housing Report from Harvard University's Joint Center for Housing Studies. While most states have at least one "high-risk" county with 2,000 or more rental units, many are concentrated in California and Florida. How many rentals are at risk in California and FloridaHarvard researchers found the number of rental units exposed to climate hazards in the U.S. by combining an area's risk of economic loss from natural disasters with the number of rental units in those areas, Wedeen said. Florida, for example, has many rental units as well as census tracts, or neighborhoods, that FEMA identified as having at least moderate risk, Wedeen said. Florida has 2.4 million rental units at risk, or about 89% of its rental stock, according to the Harvard study.

Henry Cavill has weighed in on the debate surrounding the use of sex scenes in film and TV. I'm not a fan," Cavill said, agreeing with Vaughn, who said he "can't get my head around sex scenes." The " Witcher " actor said there are occasions where he thinks sex scenes are "beneficial" to a film's narrative, "but I think sometimes they're overused these days." "It's when you have a sense where you're going, 'Is this really necessary or is it just people with less clothing on?'" Explaining the online resistance to sex scenes, some have pointed to the fact that younger generations, millennials and Gen Zers, have different attitudes than older audiences.

That's according to a recent study by public health experts in Canada who found stark income inequality is causing a mental health crisis. AdvertisementIt assessed Census income data, community health survey data, and hospitalization and death rates since 2006. AdvertisementResearchers said these indicators of declining community health are directly tied to economic conditions. People with less money might have a more difficult time accessing medicine and mental health services compared to their wealthier neighbors. Improving public health outcomes and reducing social stigma around money needs to start on a broad scale by addressing economic disparities, she said.

A new analysis from Liberty Street Economics finds younger Americans saw their net worths swell. That might be because their new pandemic stimulus let them invest more. Coming into the pandemic, Americans under 40 were holding just under 6% of all US wealth, according to Liberty Street Economics, even as they made up just under 40% of adults. And it was a boon: Americans under 40 — who comprise both Gen Zers old enough to be in the full-time workforce, and almost all millennials — saw their real wealth skyrocket by around 80%. AdvertisementThose younger Americans were willing to make riskier investments, as the analysis notes, perhaps due to just how far out they are from retiring.

A wave of retiring Boomers means the generation will soon be at "peak burden" to the economy. It's the Baby Boomers, who are aging fast and approaching their "peak burden" years in regard to their drag on the economy and the resources of younger generations. Advertisement"The peak burden is [when] all the baby boomers have hit retirement," Millar told Business Insider. And it isn't the case that Baby Boomers will derail economic growth nearly as much as, say, a full-blown recession, according to Dean Baker, an economist who described the Baby Boomers as a "time bomb" in a 1998 paper. To them, nostalgia might even cause people to be discontent with the present and pessimistic about the future. Studies indicate that feeling lonely increases nostalgia and that nostalgia, in turn, increases feelings of social connectedness. Americans 45 and older were more likely than those under 45 to view nostalgic memories as reminders of what's important and as sources of inspiration and guidance. That isn't surprising; older adults have more life experiences to draw from. Every one of them has stories of nostalgic inspiration — life experiences that sparked their passion.
