Constellation has surged 62% year to date to become the sixth-best performing stock in the S & P 500 , while Vistra has more than doubled to become the second-best performing stock, only slightly behind AI chipmaker Nvidia . Constellation owns the largest nuclear fleet in the U.S., operating 21 of the country's 93 reactors. Campanella sees the recent pullback of Constellation's stock, down 12% over the past month, as an attractive buying opportunity. Constellation and Vistra have substantial catalysts on the horizon that are not factored into their guidance, as tech companies shop for nuclear reactors to power their energy-hungry data centers , according to the analysts. Constellation is also exploring the possibility of restarting reactor Unit 1 at Three Mile Island in Pennsylvania, which ceased operations in 2019, as demand for nuclear energy grows.

said on Monday that it was investigating whether the Trump campaign had been hacked, days after the former president said Iran had launched a cyberattack. The bureau did not specifically name Iran or former President Donald J. Trump but referred to news reports about a “campaign cyberintrusion.”“We can confirm the F.B.I. has said Iran, China and Russia were at the top of the list. Russia has a long history of trying to sow chaos in American elections, targeting the Democratic National Committee in 2016. The Trump campaign has so far provided no evidence of Iran’s involvement, but on Friday Microsoft said a hacking group run by the intelligence unit of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps had breached the account of a “former senior adviser” to a presidential campaign.

Kuzmina, 32, is training to be an electrician in Kamianske, a city in eastern Ukraine. Because of worker shortages in fields like driving, mechanical work, and road work, the Ukrainian government launched a program that provides women with training vouchers. But Ukrainian women must still contend with employers and even family members who aren't always on board with more women taking traditionally male jobs. But soon after Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Kuzmina's commander disbanded the unit because of a lack of resources. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said last month that Russia had damaged or destroyed more than half of Ukraine's power generation.

CNN —Donald Trump’s campaign, which has whiffed in its early attacks on Kamala Harris’ new presidential campaign, will grapple this week for a more effective foothold after the vice president transformed an election of stunning surprises. On Sunday, for instance, he spread a new false conspiracy theory over the size of Harris’ rally crowd in Michigan last week. Trump’s campaign was also forced on Saturday to deny a report in The New York Times that he’d privately referred to Harris as a “b*tch” as he bemoaned her momentum. Therefore, a debate expected between Trump and Harris on ABC on September 10 looms as a pivotal new moment in the campaign. But as Trump has shown in recent days, he still hasn’t worked out a way to respond to the suddenly changed circumstances of the campaign.

PARIS — Olympic boxing champion Imane Khelif has filed a legal complaint in France for online harassment after a rain of criticism and false claims about her sex during the Paris Olympics, her lawyer said Sunday. The complaint was filed Friday with a special unit in the Paris prosecutor’s office for combating online hate speech, alleging “aggravated cyber-harassment” targeting Khelif, lawyer Nabil Boudi said. In a statement, he described it as a “misogynist, racist and sexist campaign” against the boxer. As is common in French law, the complaint doesn’t name an alleged perpetrator but leaves it to investigators to determine who could be at fault. False claims that Khelif was transgender or a man erupted online, and the International Olympic Committee defended her and denounced those peddling misinformation.

However, rising home prices and mortgage rates in recent years have made this goal difficult to accomplish. "We refuse to become 'house-poor' and, like many others, are choosing to sit it out until the housing market is reasonable again," Laura said. With an 11% downpayment, they estimated their monthly mortgage payment would be about $5,000 — about 43% of the couple's take-home monthly pay. CNN —Cold case investigators have arrested a 55-year-old woman in North Carolina in connection with the death of a newborn girl found in a California dumpster 37 years ago, according to the Riverside Police Department. Through DNA testing, detectives identified the baby’s mother as Melissa Jean Allen Avila, police said in a Thursday news release. In 2020, the department’s new homicide cold case unit reopened the case. “Othram assisted with investigators’ reference testing efforts using (a method of testing that) allows investigators to infer kinship in closely and distantly related individuals,” the company said. “Thanks to the persistent efforts of our investigators and partners, this victim now has an identity, bringing resolution to the case,” Riverside Police Chief Larry Gonzalez said.

For the third presidential election in a row, the foreign hacking of the campaigns has begun in earnest. But this time, it’s the Iranians, not the Russians, making the first significant move. On Friday, Microsoft released a report declaring that a hacking group run by the intelligence unit of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had successfully breached the account of a “former senior adviser” to a presidential campaign. From that account, Microsoft said, the group sent fake email messages, known as “spear phishing,” to “a high-ranking official of a presidential campaign” in an effort to break into the campaign’s own accounts and databases. The facts were murkier, and it is unclear what, if anything, the Iranian group, which Microsoft called Mint Sandstorm, was able to achieve.

To the Editor:Re “Traffic Stops Fell in Pandemic, and Didn’t Return” (The Upshot, front page, Aug. 1):Thank you for highlighting the public health crisis that is the rise in traffic deaths across the United States. I advise children to wear a seatbelt, look both ways before crossing a road and wear a helmet when cycling. We need an evidence-based approach to this public health crisis. We need to invest in Vision Zero programs to fund structural changes, including speed cameras and physical barriers between cyclists and drivers. Cities need to invest in public transit systems.

What comes next could hinge on who gets to oversee labor relations after the election. The National Labor Relations Board — which polices unfair labor practices and mediates worker-management disputes — has become an aggressive union booster under Biden. While the agency’s policies typically shift depending on who’s in the White House, the change has been pronounced, labor experts and former NLRB staffers say. Before joining the law firm in 2022, White worked for a decade at a regional NLRB field office under the Obama, Trump and Biden administrations. Last year, the NLRB overturned a 50-year precedent, requiring employers to recognize a union if most workers sign authorization cards for one.

Enter America’s top job creator: The mighty health care industry. Demand for health care workers remains red hot, according to recent government data on job openings. In June, the health care and social assistance industry had the highest seasonally adjusted job openings rate of any industry, at 7.6%, well above the total rate across the job market of 5.5% that month. That has translated into fatter paychecks for health care workers compared to the general private sector. “Virtually every nurse or health care tech in the country has a job,” Girard said.
