"We're at a very, you know, important inflection point in the industry," Robins said. "Most people assume that it's legal in most states now if not all. DraftKings cut its full-year guidance for 2024 when it reported Thursday after the close, sending shares down nearly 6% in extended trading. New York CNN —Donald Trump rode a powerful wave of discontent over the cost of living back to the White House. Trump reminded voters often that inflation wasn’t a problem when he was calling the shots. But if he’s not careful, Trump could have an inflation problem of his own. They point to study after study that shows Americans bore almost the entire cost of Trump’s tariffs on China. “When Trump uses tariffs as a negotiating tool, I’m fine with that,” Moore said during a phone interview in late October.

He has lavished praise on his campaign co-chairs, Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles – who Trump named as his White House chief of staff on Thursday evening. In the 2016 election, Trump lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton – and he repeatedly claimed falsely that he had won it. Trump’s priority is to finalize his Cabinet and senior White House staff, and the second wave is to sort deputy secretaries. Lebaredian is vice president of omniverse and simulation technology at Nvidia, reporting directly to CEO Jensen Huang. "AI is essentially bridging this computing to physical world divide, and that essentially is robotics," Lebaredian told Business Insider. The Nvidia veteran is building a virtual world faithful to the real world so that robots can use it to practice tasks and learn. "The key here is that the simulation that we use has to match the real world as closely as possible so that what it learns inside that virtual world is transferable to the real world. If it learns inside a cartoon world with cartoon physics, it's not going to behave properly when it gets into the real world," he said.

US stocks had one of their best days in years and hit new records after Trump's resounding win over Kamala Harris in Tuesday's election. Both of those moves make sense, said David Kelly, the global strategy chief at JPMorgan Asset Management, in an interview on Wednesday. AdvertisementThe strategy chief has been adamant that higher tariffs — one of Trump's key proposals — would cripple the US economy and endanger the global economic expansion. Related storiesMost economists condemn tariffs, which are taxes on imports, because they tend to lead to higher prices and lower economic growth. Sean Gallagher, the global head of Lazard's small-cap equity platform, made a similar point in a recent interview with Business Insider when asked about Trump's tariffs and Kelly's stance.

The stock had shot up as much as 60% early Wednesday as Trump was projected to defeat Vice President Kamala Harris. The media company, majority owned by Trump, went public in March via a blank-check merger and now trades under ticker DJT — Trump's initials. watch nowThe Federal Reserve approved its second consecutive interest rate cut Thursday, moving at a less aggressive pace than before but continuing its efforts to rightsize monetary policy. Among them was an altered view in how it assesses the effort to bring down inflation while supporting the labor market. The statement slightly downgraded the labor market, saying "conditions have generally eased, and the unemployment rate has moved up but remains low." Generally, the labor market has held up well. An acceleration in economic activity under Trump could persuade the Fed to cut rates less, depending on how inflation reacts.

NEW YORK — Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine struck a deal to end his current jail stint, agreeing to serve a month behind bars for violating the terms of his release after a felony conviction, prosecutors said Wednesday. The deal with federal prosecutors was described in a letter partially endorsed by a Manhattan federal judge. It calls for the entertainer to be sentenced to a month in jail, followed by a month of home incarceration, a month of home detention and a month of curfew. The terms of the deal also call for Tekashi 6ix9ine to submit to supervision from the court’s Probation Department for another year. In April 2020, Tekashi 6ix9ine was freed months early from his prison sentence after complaining that his ailments made him particularly susceptible to the coronavirus, which was spreading through the nation’s jails and prisons.

Harris offered to console Democrats over the loss to former President Donald Trump, acknowledging they were "feeling and experiencing a range of emotions right now." Trump never did when he lost to President Joe Biden and Harris in 2020. After Biden dropped out and endorsed Harris, Democrats reveled in the change, flooding donation channels and crushing fundraising records. The Biden campaign was skidding off course, setting off an eruption of party panic.
