LONDON (AP) — A new exhibition is opening in London to chart for the first time the contributions that Black British culture made to U.K. fashion and design history and to celebrate Black designers who haven't received public recognition. “The Missing Thread: Untold Stories of Black British Fashion" at central London's Somerset House, which opens Thursday, pays tribute to the influence of Black designers in fashion from the 1970s. Curators said that the idea of a display celebrating Black fashion and culture has germinated for some time. But Oldfield — who had a Jamaican father — is rarely referenced as a Black designer, and has never championed Black culture. And that was largely a problem for Black designers at the time,” Ibi said.

Sept 17 (Reuters) - Actor Drew Barrymore on Sunday said she had backed off plans to bring back her daytime talk show while strikes in Hollywood continue, yielding to an outcry of criticism. The proposed return of "The Drew Barrymore Show" drew picketers from the striking writers' and actors' unions as taping resumed last week. Crew members on the show have been out of work since the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike began in May and shut down production. Other talk shows have also announced plans to return to television. The WGA said it was "difficult to imagine" how Maher, a WGA member, could host the show and still comply with strike rules.

NEW YORK (AP) — Drew Barrymore, who drew criticism for taping new episodes of her daytime talk show despite the ongoing writers and actors strikes, now says she'll wait until the labor issues are resolved. “I have listened to everyone, and I am making the decision to pause the show’s premiere until the strike is over,” Barrymore posted on Instagram on Sunday. Ariel Dumas, head writer and supervising producer for “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” reacted on X, formerly Twitter: “This is really great,” she wrote, saying "The Drew Barrymore Show” “decided to do the right thing. That’s because talk shows are covered under a separate contract — the so-called Network Code — from the one actors and writers are striking. Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers about the third episode of “Ahsoka,” “Time to Fly.”CNN —After a somewhat sluggish start, “Ahsoka” felt much more on target as its third episode continued to draw upon “Star Wars Rebels” lore while mixing in abundant action and paying its respects to the original trilogy. The interactions between Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) and Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), in particular, echoed the early training of Luke Skywalker by Obi-Wan Kenobi, and offered a reminder that the past and future of “Star Wars” run straight through the Jedi order. For her part, Hera (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) was left to grapple with the myopia of the New Republic leadership to the lingering imperial threat. Whatever the numbers, “Ahsoka” now feels as if it’s more solidly building toward its larger narrative at a brisker pace. Keep doing that, and the ratings – however you choose to measure them – should take care of themselves.

Gen Z fashion trends are sustainable, intentional, and just a little bit silly and ugly. "Wrong shoe theory" and Kramercore are part of a reaction to economic and climate turmoil. It's called "wrong shoe theory," and it's yet another Gen Z fashion moment that might seem counterintuitive at first. It's no wonder, then, that Gen Z is embracing another similarly kitschy and thriftable aesthetic: Kramercore.
