Asked for comment on the munitions used in the Rafah strike at Tuesday’s briefing, Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh told reporters: “I do not know what type of munition was used in that airstrike. Hagari said the deadly fire which occurred following the strike was not caused solely by weapons used by the Israeli military.

UBS lifted its S&P 500 price target from 5,400 to 5,600, marking the highest target on Wall Street. The new estimate stems from diminishing recession risk and strong earnings growth. UBS also raised its estimate for earnings-per-share growth for 2024 and 2025. AdvertisementShrinking recession risks and estimate-beating earnings growth have prompted UBS to once again lift its S&P 500 year-end target, the bank said in a Tuesday note. Although UBS had upgraded its S&P target as recently as February, recent economic data has made that month's 5,400 forecast look too weak.

Mario Anzuoni | ReutersOff-price retailers like TJX Companies and Ross are still posting sales gains and taking market share from rivals, but it's not just because consumers are under pressure and hunting for value. TJX and Ross both reported fiscal first quarter earnings last week that came in better than Wall Street expected, even as both companies lapped outsize growth from the prior-year period. Ross, which runs Ross Dress for Less and dd's Discounts, posted an 8% jump in sales, bringing revenue to $4.86 billion, compared to estimates of $4.83 billion, according to LSEG.
