Like the Masters there will be 18 LIV members in the field led by twice PGA Championship winners Koepka and 52-year-old Mickelson and Australian Cameron Smith, who signed on with LIV after winning last year's British Open. Rahm and world number two Scottie Scheffler both are in top form coming into Rochester. It was the Australian's first win on the PGA Tour since the 2018 Wells Fargo Championship and his 13th in all since he won his maiden title, also at the Byron Nelson, in 2010. Since his last title win, Day has endured illness and injury as well as the pain of watching his mother's five-year battle with cancer, which ended when she died last year. The timing of the win could not be better with the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club in New York coming up later this week. Day won his only major title at the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in 2015.

New York CNN —A wrongful death lawsuit filed against several social media companies Friday alleges that social media lent to the radicalization of the gunman who shot and killed 10 people at a grocery store in Buffalo, New York, last May. “However, the social media platforms that radicalized him, and the companies that armed him, must still be held accountable for their actions. Speaking to CNN Sunday, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown commended some of the victims’ families and survivors for tackling extremism on social media platforms. We deliberately designed Snapchat differently than traditional social media platforms and don’t allow unvetted content to go viral or be algorithmically promoted. The lawsuit alleges that social media platforms “Meta, Alphabet, Reddit and 4chan earned advertising revenue from hosting and amplifying” Gendron’s video on their platforms.

2 lender, fell short of analyst forecasts in half-year profit released on Thursday and took a hit to its share price after warning that the windfall from rising interest rates had peaked. Already this month, DeSantis has seen more fellow Florida Republicans back Trump instead of him. April was supposed to be the crescendo for the Florida governor before his widely expected presidential announcement. Instead, DeSantis has been pummeled on all sides, including by many of his fellow Florida Republicans. "Floridians want him focused on Florida," Rep. Greg Steube, yet another Florida Republican who endorsed Trump, told Politico, "which is the job they elected him to do." Last month, DeSantis began to punch back at Trump in a feisty Piers Morgan interview where he stressed that he was a "winner."

But Zeldin endorsed Trump on Monday while DeSantis was in Japan. This comes after Zeldin praised DeSantis in February at a law-enforcement event. Asked during that trip about slipping in the polls against Trump, DeSantis replied, "I'm not a candidate, so we'll see if and when that changes." Aside from sagging poll numbers in a hypothetical primary against Trump, DeSantis has been losing support among members of his own party. Trump only has ground to lose on endorsements while Governor DeSantis, who isn't even an announced candidate, continues to have a growing base of support."
