AFP Action senior adviser Emily Seidel said in a briefing document explaining the decision that Haley was best positioned to beat Trump in the primary. What Haley could gain from the endorsementHaley has one thing every successful candidate needs as first voting nears – a rising political trajectory. And Tuesday’s developments complicated his campaign’s efforts to convince big corporate donors that he is the best hope to defeat Trump. As well as muscle in the campaign advertising wars, its endorsement could bring major donors to Haley’s campaign. Even when it comes to a candidate who is as disdainful of democracy as Trump is, voters decide.

Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley listens as she is introduced during a campaign stop in Hooksett, New Hampshire, U.S., November 20, 2023. The political network largely financed by billionaire Charles Koch endorsed former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley for president Tuesday, boosting her primary campaign against the Republican front-runner, former President Donald Trump. The Haley endorsement by the Koch-backed super PAC Americans for Prosperity Action marks the end of a yearlong search for a viable Republican alternative to challenge Trump. Americans for Prosperity Action has already spent millions of dollars so far bashing Trump this cycle, arguing that he would lose a general election to President Joe Biden.

The DeSantis campaign is not happy that Americans for Prosperity Action is backing Haley's 2024 bid. "Every dollar spent on Nikki Haley's candidacy should be reported as an in-kind to the Trump campaign," he continued. Haley on Tuesday said she was "honored" to have earned the endorsement from Americans for Prosperity Action. The DeSantis campaign has argued that Haley has no path to the GOP nomination, but no other candidate — including DeSantis — has been able to overtake Trump in polling in any of the early-nominating states. The support from Americans for Prosperity Action will now give Haley critical financial and organizational help in the lead-up to Iowa and New Hampshire.

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa—The fate of Nikki Haley’s presidential campaign rests on a central question: Can she be all things to all Republicans? As the Republican presidential primary field begins to narrow, Haley’s rise in polls represents the re-emergence of a more traditional Republican at a time when former President Donald Trump dominates the party. Haley, a former South Carolina governor and United Nations ambassador, has made progress in consolidating the anti-Trump vote. In an interview, Haley declined to say whether she identifies more with the Trump wing of the party or traditional Republicans. But she must first get past Ron DeSantis, who is more closely aligned with Trump on policy and in temperament.

As Nikki Haley has risen in polls, so has her viability among top political donors, per The Times. Some donors are describing Haley's candidacy as one that's creating enthusiasm among party leaders. GOP donor Eric Levine told The Times that Trump's air of inevitability has "peeled away completely." I would certainly like her over Trump," Langone, who's donated to Haley's campaign, told the newspaper. "His aura of invincibility is just peeled away completely," Levine said, pointing to Haley's polling surge among GOP voters.

A Left Turn for Democrats in New Hampshire?

Since their narrow victories in 2016, Democrats have won every federal race in New Hampshire – and have done so by widening margins. But Sununu, the scion of a New Hampshire Republican dynasty, decided not to run for a new term in 2024. Depending on vacancies and special elections, the Democrats might be able to flip control of the chamber even before the 2024 election. Under Biden, Democrats changed the order of their primaries to place New Hampshire tied for second, rather than first. Regardless, the unusual nature of the 2024 primary could have negative consequences for Democrats, Galdieri said.

CNN —A weekend of ferocious political exchanges laid out the tumultuous reality of the 2024 White House campaign less than a year from Election Day. The fight for the GOP nomination is about far more than a horse race between candidates. Poor starts with the bat and ball cost the side in their tense three wicket defeat to old foes Australia on Thursday – the fifth time they have exited a World Cup in the semi-finals. South Africa will co-host the next 50-over finals with Namibia and Zimbabwe in 2027 and Walter believes there is much room for optimism they can improve further having arrived in India under the radar and with little expectation of success. The majority of the people that are going to be on the journey (to the next World Cup) are still in the changing room. Former South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn, who lost in the semi-finals in 2015, also believes there is cause for optimism.
