In 2007, I became Monster.com's first chief diversity officer, then Walgreens' in 2012. Most recently I served as chief human-resources officer at Workhuman. When done right, DEI programs not only give companies a competitive edge but also can be the very means of mending a broken America. Unsurprisingly, the role of chief diversity officer became more popular during this time as CEOs and boards recognized that they needed a dedicated team with resources to prevent similar class-action settlements and public-relations disasters. Prior to serving as chief people officer for Workhuman, he was chief diversity officer for Walgreens and Monster.com.

Trump's departure from the White House hasn't stopped him from using the old administration's star power to fuel Capitol Ministries' growth. But regardless of what happens this coming November, Capitol Ministries is quickly becoming the face of American GOP-style evangelicalism around the world. Other than Ralph's wife, Danielle, and a few members of Capitol Ministries' administrative staff, the room was almost entirely men. Rick Perry spoke to Drollinger at Capitol Ministries' global summit in Washington, DC. And yet, on the question of whether and why to support Israel, Drollinger was indeed looking to Revelation for answers.

A 10-year defense and economic deal with Turkey to protect its seacoast and bolster its naval force. An agreement with the United States to construct five military bases for over $100 million. An enhanced defense cooperation accord with Uganda to boost the fight against the terrorist group Al Shabab. The three security pacts signed by Somalia in recent days underscore the increasing perils the Horn of Africa nation faces both internally and externally. Equally worrisome, tensions are growing between Somalia and its western neighbor, Ethiopia, over Somalia’s coastline — the longest in mainland Africa — threatening to set off a new conflict in a vital global shipping route in an increasingly volatile region.

Wendy’s will soon begin testing surge pricing

New York CNN —The price of a Wendy’s Frosty could soon fluctuate throughout the day as the chain looks to introduce Uber-like surge pricing on its menu. The practice, known as “dynamic pricing,” will begin testing in 2025, Wendy’s recently revealed in an earnings call. Surge pricing is common with sports and concert tickets and for ride-hailing apps, with services like Ticketmaster and Uber using sophisticated dynamic pricing algorithms that change minute by minute, based on demand. However, there hasn’t been widespread adoption from restaurants because of the labor it takes employees to change menus. McDonald’s has also dabbled with dynamic pricing and new order-suggestion capabilities at some of its upgraded drive-thrus and on its app.

Carbon credits have been through a tough time. But since then, the voluntary carbon market (VCM), where carbon credits are traded, has faced intense criticism for the actual emission reduction the credits provided. "So, definitely, it was a bumpy ride," said Allister Furey, cofounder and CEO of carbon credit rating and data provider Sylvera. In a vote of confidence from venture capitalists, January also saw carbon credit insurer CarbonPool secure $12 million, carbon credit investment platform Cultivo raise $14 million, and carbon project developers platform BlueLayer come out of stealth with $10 million. In all, it signals the start to the end of the carbon credit "wild west," Sylvera's Furey said.

If that return isn't there, will they keep ordering the latest and greatest Nvidia chips? Despite the overall improvements in availability, Nvidia on Wednesday indicated it will face supply-and-demand imbalances with its upcoming AI chips. The U.S. government has said its export controls are designed to keep high-powered AI chips out of the hands of the Chinese military. In the November-through-January quarter, China accounted for a mid-single-digit percentage of Nvidia's $18.4 billion in data center revenue, according to the company. The fact Nvidia still booked China revenue in the hundreds of millions of dollars means it could take a further hit in the region.

1 in 4 New York City Children Now Lives in Poverty

It differs from the U.S. census’s official poverty measure, which only counts cash resources, but the supplemental measure is also widely used by government. In 2022, under the supplemental measure, a family of New York City renters with two children was considered below the poverty line if it made less than about $44,000. Why It Matters: The City’s Economic Recovery Is UnevenThe rise in poverty underscores wide disparities in New York. A major reason for the disparities is the lopsided jobs recovery, said James Parrott, the director of economic and fiscal policy at the Center for New York City Affairs at the New School. The median household income in New York City is about $75,000.

BOSTON (AP) — With back-to-back Super Bowl victories for the hometown Chiefs, Kansas City football fans gathered for another championship parade and a second celebratory pep rally in a row. Not because the Chiefs, with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes still just 28 years old, can’t win another NFL title. “They have to think twice about having these parades,” said former Boston Police Commissioner Bill Evans, who in 38 years with the department worked 12 championship parades and the aftermath of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. The event included a parade down Grand Boulevard, followed by a rally in front of Union Station.
