Elon Musk has rebranded Twitter as 'X,' using a new domain — X.com. This has caused issues in Indonesia, where users are unable to access X.com, per Al Jazeera. Elon Musk announced on Sunday that the domain X.com, which he previously used for PayPal, had started redirecting users to Twitter. The ministry told Al Jazeera that the X.com domain had previously been used by websites that did not adhere to the country's regulations against "negative" content. Aribowo Sasmito, the cofounder of MAFINDO, a fact-checking group, told Al Jazeera that he believes the website was blocked because it sounded like "XXX," a porn site.

Unlucky for some perhaps, but a 13th today would make it the longest winning streak for the Dow since 1987. Meta Platforms (META.O) is up next after Wednesday's closing bell and its share rose 2%. Wells Fargo (WFC.N), meantime, climbed 2.8% after the bank's board authorized a new $30 billion share buyback program. The Fed decision comes in the wake of another set of forecast-beating U.S. consumer confidence readings for July. Elsewhere, the European earnings season was in full swing too, with banks dominating the diary and the European Central Bank meeting tomorrow.

Goodyear Tire to expand board in settlement with Elliott

The firm urged the company to refresh the board, sell its stores and conduct an operational review. On Tuesday, Goodyear said it would establish a strategic and operational review committee. Elliott, which has a history of taking board seats at companies including Twitter and eBay, had previously criticized the tyre-manufacturer for mismanagement and lagging behind its rivals, Michelin and Bridgestone. "We have been encouraged by Goodyear's openness to taking actions necessary to realize its full potential," Elliott executives said in a statement on Tuesday. Evercore, Lazard and Goldman Sachs are financial advisers to Goodyear, while Paul Weiss the legal counsel.

I've worked in tech for 20 years and served as the former head of analytics at companies like eBay, Amazon, and GameStop. This matters, but more is required, and it starts with understanding the secret conversations that happen behind closed doors during the promotion process. Identify the voters: This plan starts with understanding who your manager's peers are and your manager's managers are. After generating this list with your manager, you'll need to have a discussion with your manager to determine who you should align with, much like a corporate version of Survivor! Elon Musk announced Saturday that Twitter would be rebranding to X, replacing its bird logo and doing away with identifiable phrases like "tweet." Many Twitter users aren't totally on board with the move, resulting in CEO Linda Yaccarino's verbose statement being compared with a cringeworthy business pitch featured in "Succession." Kendall Roy, played by Jeremy Strong, describes it as "Substack meets Masterclass meets The Economist meets The New Yorker." Noah Shachtman, the editor-in-chief of Rolling Stone, quipped: "[Kendall Roy voice] It's, y'know, Venmo meets Clubhouse meets Ebay meets ChatGPT." While time spent in a specific role may correlate with commitment, experience, or knowledge, it doesn't necessarily correlate with value to a company. To get a raise or promotion, you're going to need more than tenure — you're going to need to create additional value or increase your scope of work. In this case, the company is getting more value by paying more, but paying more doesn't always equate to more value. For many positions, it can be hard to determine if an experienced person is providing more value than a non-experienced person. The question that the company will ask is, does the hire salary cost outweigh the cost of hiring a new employee?

Insider spoke to three Barbie collectors who seem unfazed by the potential rise in the dolls' worth. As a collector doing it for love, he told Insider those looking to make money should invest in other things. Antique expert Dr. Lori told Insider she estimates a 25% rise in the doll's value in the build-up to the film's release and immediately afterward. "There are too many elements to the concept of value, and it's rarely just about finance," Yang told Insider. Even if these Barbie collectors were looking to make a quick buck in Gerwig's box office weekend, selling Barbies isn't easy.

Every month, Jimmy Ly usually orders nearly 150 bottles of sriracha from Huy Fong Foods for one of his Vietnamese restaurants in New York City. The sauce opens the richness of a pho broth or adds a blast of heat to a banh xeo, a Vietnamese crepe. Sriracha can “really hit the sweet spot in terms of spice, sweetness, acidity, just that tang.”But a few months ago, supply began to dry up. So he, like some other Huy Fong enthusiasts, bought two large bottles on eBay for $35 each, about five times the usual price, to use at home. For the second year in a row, Huy Fong, the maker of the most popular variety of sriracha, is facing production issues, the company said in a statement this month, because of “a shortage of raw material” with “no estimations of when supply will increase.”

A key element of getting hired is being relatable, but it's something that is frequently overlooked by candidates during the interview process. You and your experience need to be seen as relatable as possible to the job that you're applying for. Now let's assume that you have five years of experience in the field and five years of experience building Tableau dashboards. But to the interviewer, you don't appear to be perfectly relatable, and you might not get hired because of this. By treating the recruiting call as a fact-finding mission, you will be equipped to provide the most relatable answers.

The way I shop, budget, and save now is drastically different from when I started my personal finance journey. These had a lot of helpful information about how to stick to a budget, pay off debt, and put our needs before our wants. The main takeaway was "spend as little money as possible." When you can't afford anything beyond food, rent, and tuition, making spending decisions is easy — the answer is always "no." I realize now that it probably would have been easier to focus on making more money instead of squeezing the life out of every penny.
