Beyond local business expansion, ServiceNow also said it would invest the cash into localizing the processing of data for its large language models (LLMs), AI models that rely on vast quantities of training data to be able to understand and generate text like a human. The firm said that it would bring Nvidia GPUs (graphics processing units) to its data centers based in London and the Welsh city of Newport to support processing of data on its LLMs within the U.K. This will help support "domain specific LLMs" for U.K. clients and governments, ServiceNow said. ServiceNow isn't the only tech giant betting big on the U.K. as a global destination for AI innovation. The AI center forms part of a $4 billion investment Salesforce committed to making in the U.K. over five years in June last year.

Horror fans are calling the main character, Art the Clown, a new icon for the genre. Fans say the success of "Terrifier 3" has cemented its lead character, the demonic, mute serial killer Art the Clown, as a horror icon. Now, fans have hailed Art as a modern horror icon akin to other slasher villains such as Norman Bates, Leatherface, Michael Myers, and Freddy Krueger. My horror hot take:Art the Clown is the first true horror icon to emerge thus far this century (Pennywise was already an icon under Tim Curry, and the “Saw” films have gone on without Jigsaw). He’s the horror icon we need right now.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day recognizes the contributions and legacy of those who lived here long before Christopher Columbus erroneously claimed to have discovered America. President Joe Biden formally recognized Indigenous Peoples’ Day in 2021 by signing a proclamation stating that federal policies “systematically sought to assimilate and displace Native people and eradicate Native cultures.”Some states officially celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day and others commemorate it through proclamations. More than 100 cities have replaced Columbus Day altogether with the holiday. Chase Bank and TD Bank will be open for Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

Even as swing-seat Republicans attempt to paint a more nuanced view of the GOP’s stance on abortion, the national party has often muddled that message. “You can’t hide from it,” said Rep. Kelly Armstrong, a Republican from North Dakota, reflecting on the lessons Republicans learned in the 2022 midterms. Hudson accused Democrats of “creating a false and distorted impression” of the GOP’s abortion position in the 2022 midterms and attacked Democrats for espousing their own “extreme” views on the issue. Since then, Chamberlain has used her own polling to help convince key swing-seat House Republicans to shift their approach. “This is a desperation move by Republicans,” said House Democrats’ campaign chief, Rep. Suzan DelBene of Washington state.

Fed rate cuts are likely to help push bitcoin and other risk assets higher, but some stablecoin issuers could suffer a hit to their revenue. Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC) dominate the market, making up 70% and 21%, respectively, according to CryptoQuant. "As rates begin to fall, that has a giant impact on their [profit and loss] and their bottom line." Stablecoins – cryptocurrencies that promise a fixed value peg to another asset, usually the U.S. dollar – are widely seen as crypto's killer app. Jeremy Allaire, CEO of USDC issuer Circle, told CNBC lower interest rates are "a very good thing" for the company because lower interest rates will likely increase investment and economic activity – which would benefit the company.
