Michigan, which Joe Biden narrowly won in 2020, will be a crucial battleground again this November and is home to a large Arab American population. CNN has reached out to the Harris campaign for comment about the meeting. He cited growing frustration with what he described as a campaign more concerned with optics than addressing the anger and anxiety among Arab American voters. There were no leaders,” Zogby said of the Wednesday conversation. That call and other communications with the Harris campaign, and Biden’s before that, have irked the longtime Democratic pollster.

But those actions are hurting Moscow's economic future, Sonin said. In New York City, a group of veteran journalists are trying to fill the gap. The group is tentatively called the New York Editorial Board, according to Semafor editor-in-chief Ben Smith, who helped assemble it in recent weeks. The self-styled board – “a group of journalists grilling politicians,” Smith said – is partly a reaction to The New York Times’ announcement in August that its editorial board will no longer endorse candidates in New York’s local elections. The timing is especially notable in the wake of last week’s indictment of New York City Mayor Eric Adams, raising the possibility of a nonpartisan special election if he resigns. Politicians, they hope, will feel obliged to participate given the prominence of the local journalists going back generations.

Hezbollah has lost contact with Safieddine since the strike, a Lebanese security source told CNN on Saturday. Just like Nasrallah, Safieddine is a staunch critic of Israel and the West, with deep alliances with the Iranian leadership. The executive council is one of five bodies that make up the Shura Council, which is the organization’s decision-making body. The executive council oversees political matters, as opposed to the Jihad Council which is the group’s military body, which Safieddine is a member of. Job seekers who are patient can learn something about their prospective employer, an exec told BI. But lately, the slogging has grown more intense as some employers tack interview after interview onto the hiring process. It can be maddening for job seekers forced to sit through rounds of interviews that might stretch into the double digits. That means some employers put job seekers through more rounds than an NFL draft. Having a boatload of interviews gives job seekers more chances to determine whether an employer is a good fit for them.

Shein is set to hold informal investor meetings in the coming weeks for its planned London initial public offering, three sources with knowledge of the matter said, pushing ahead with preparations as it awaits U.K. regulatory approval. The China-founded online retailer plans to hold informal roadshows mainly across Europe, one of the sources said, during which an IPO-bound company fields large investors' questions and tests their investment appetite. Shein confidentially filed papers with Britain's markets regulator in early June, kicking off the process for a potential London listing by the company later in the year, Reuters reported in June, citing sources. Ed Yardeni predicts the S&P 500 could reach 8,000 by 2030. AdvertisementThere's a simple reason one of the most bullish Wall Street strategists expects the stock market to continue rising in the years ahead: compound interest. At a compounded annual growth rate of between 6% and 7%, the S&P 500 is on track to hit 8,000 by 2030, representing potential upside of about 40% from current levels. "The S&P 500 stock price index is driven by its earnings per share (EPS), which has been growing mostly between 6% and 7% since the 1950s," Yardeni said. He added: "EPS could double to $400 by the end of the decade in our Roaring 2020s scenario," Yardeni said.

When Jyoti Bansal made "the hardest decision" of his career — selling his software startup AppDynamics for billions — he did it with his employees in mind. As the startup's founder and chairman, Bansal would've become wealthy either way — but only one of his two options guaranteed the same for many of his staffers, he says. Upon Bansal's acceptance of the offer, roughly 400 AppDynamics employees saw their shares of the company rise in value to at least $1 million, a spokesperson for Bansal says. Today, he's the CEO and co-founder of two other software startups, Traceable and Harness, the latter of which was most recently valued at $3.7 billion in 2022. At least 70 of the company's 80 employees became millionaires on paper when VeriSign's stock soared two years later, Chaudhry said.

Carroll had little interest in cruises, but a writing retreat aboard the Queen Mary 2 intrigued her. The solo travel part wasn't out of character — I'd spent most of my 20s backpacking alone. It was this writing retreat — with its promise of expert instruction plus time to focus — that enticed me to get on board a ship. I was hoping that a writing retreat would reignite that spark. One thing seems clear: The company is burning through far more cash than it’s bringing in, according to reporting from the New York Times. (That’s revenue largely from subscriptions to premium versions of ChatGPT and licensing its tech to third-party developers.) Here’s where things get a little wild:Next year, OpenAI estimates that its revenue will more than triple to $11.6 billion. It’s not clear how, or whether, OpenAI is working on reducing its significant cash burn. “It has nothing to do with reality.”One way OpenAI could improve its margins would be to cut costs.
