Berkeleys' update comes at a time strengthening prospects of further Bank of England interest rate hikes have stymied hopes of a strong recovery in the UK housing sector as lenders withdraw or reprice mortgage offerings. CEO Robert Perrins said business continued to see good levels of enquiries, but flagged concerns about the trajectory of interest rate rises. Operating across London, Birmingham and the South of England, Berkeley reported a pre-tax profit for the year ended April 30 of 604 million pounds ($772.5 million), compared with 551.5 million pounds reported a year earlier. The homebuilder had forecast a pre-tax profit of about 600 million pounds.

Leandrew Smith Jr. Walker County Sheriff's OfficeThey discovered Smith had been living there without alerting authorities that his relative had died, according to the post. Walker County Jail authorities did not immediately respond to a request for comment from CNN. It is not clear whether Smith has legal representation or how many days the person had been dead in the home. Before President Nixon created the EPA in 1970, water and air pollution weren't federally regulated. The result was 81,000 photos, often filled with smoke, smog, acid, oil, rubbish, and sewage. In the early 1970s, the EPA launched the "The Documerica Project," which leveraged 100 freelance photographers to document what the US looked like. By 1974, they had taken 81,000 photos. Many of the photos were taken before water and air pollution were fully regulated.
