After visiting 25 US national parks, I've fallen in love with some lesser-known locations. I love visiting Colorado's Mesa Verde National Park, which is home to 800-year-old cliff dwellings. I've also enjoyed my time in Alaska's Denali National Park and Florida's Everglades National Park. The good news is many of these lesser-known national parks are just as spectacular as the big names. AdvertisementOf the 25 US national parks I've visited, these were some of my favorite less-popular spots.

After all-night air raid alarms, a weary Kharkiv woke up Saturday morning to a heavy gray sky and the disconcerting news that the Russian Army continued to press its advance on nearby Ukrainian territory. All night, dull explosions from battlefields 40 miles away echoed across Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city. Thousands of people are fleeing the border areas and arriving at shelters in Kharkiv. Until Friday, she had spent her entire 55 years in Vovchansk, a small town near the Russian border. She was born there, married there, worked in a factory there and raised two children there.

I go to Disney World at least once a month, and I've found underrated things most tourists miss. On days when I'm not going to the theme parks, I love playing mini golf with family and friends. AdvertisementI've been going to Disney World for over 30 years, and as an adult, I visit at least once a month. The company is putting $60 billion into its global theme parks and cruise lines — including significant additions and renovations across the Disney World parks — so there's more to do every visit. But with all the expansion, most tourists probably miss the underrated activities I've discovered across the property.

The video captures a disturbing sequence: A woman can be seen walking along a sidewalk in the Bronx on an early May morning, when a man, his face covered, approaches from behind. The scenes captured on the video sowed fear among many residents of the South Bronx. On Saturday, the police said they had arrested a man — Kashaan Parks, 39, also of the Bronx — in connection with the assault. Parks had been arrested two other times: Once in 2018 for domestic assault, and in 2013 for theft of service in the transit system. The woman, who was not named, went to Lincoln Hospital in the South Bronx after the attack.

New York CNN —Consumers may be fed up with high prices at the store, but they’re still willing to splurge on travel. Other key players in the travel industry have reported a similar trend this earnings season. Americans, especially lower-income consumers, have pulled back spending at retailers as goods inflation outpaces wage growth. They’ve even become frugal with some experience-based spending like dining out, opting instead to eat at home. “We saw a healthy but more normalized market environment for travel globally,” CEO Peter Kern told analysts on May 2.

Zellnor Myrie, an Afro-Latino state senator from Brooklyn known for backing progressive causes, announced on Wednesday that he is moving to challenge Mayor Eric Adams in next year’s Democratic primary in New York City. Mr. Myrie’s announcement is further indication that Mr. Adams’s path to re-election is expected to be more challenging than is typical for Democratic mayors in New York. Mr. Adams, who faces record low poll numbers and a federal investigation into his campaign fund-raising, now must contend with at least two challenges from his own party. “For too many New Yorkers that I speak to, they’re tired of the showmanship,” he said. They want to see their government working relentlessly to make this city affordable, to make this city safe, to make it livable.”

The annual challenge is a great example of ways kids can use digital tools "before, during and after" going outside to increase their connection to nature, says Galle. The point isn't to encourage kids to run around parks with screens in their faces, she notes: Rather, it's "an easy, educational way to get the kids outside, immersed in their environment, and learning something." EarthSnapThis nature identification app uses a smartphone or tablet's camera to identify more than two million different plants, animals, bugs and other aspects of nature. Tools like EarthSnap are useful for nurturing kids' interest in nature, especially if you aren't an expert outdoorsperson yourself, says Galle. Try using the app as a family, Galle advises: Kids often learn behaviors from their parents.

Disney posted its earnings for the first quarter on Tuesday. The entertainment giant beat Wall Street forecasts for the fourth consecutive quarter. Related storiesThe stock was up close to 30% this year at Monday's close, but a combination of the revenue miss and weaker-than-expected subscriber numbers for Disney's streaming business probably sparked the early-morning sell-off, according to analysts. Disney expects its streaming business, Disney Plus, to turn a profit for the first time in the fourth quarter, but total subscriber numbers of 153.6 million fell short of analysts' expectations. Streaming losses narrowed to just $18 million, down from $659 million this time last year.

Steps from his front yard, thousands of cars rumble past each day as they travel along the Kensington Expressway, an expansive six-lane highway that slices through his neighborhood on Buffalo’s East Side. It has also posed a physical barrier, making it harder for residents to reach grocery stores and parks. State officials say the $1 billion project, backed by a $55.6 million federal grant, will enhance pedestrian access and stimulate economic growth. They include Mr. Richardson, 69, a retired electrician who moved to the neighborhood nearly a decade ago. He said that he did not think covering a section of the highway would do much to improve the area’s air quality and that he would rather see the highway completely torn out.

Disney Why we own it: We value Disney for its best-in-class experiential entertainment Parks business, which has proven to have immense pricing power. In the second quarter, the combined business — Disney+, India's Disney+ Hotstar, Hulu and ESPN+ — saw losses of $18 million, far better than the $659 million loss in the year-ago period. DTC profitability benefited from Disney+ core subscriber growth, higher retail subscription prices, increased advertising revenue on the back of higher impressions, and lower distribution costs. Clearly, Disney still has a big opportunity in sports as they execute on their DTC streaming strategy for ESPN. We'll take a deeper dive into what options traders are betting on in Disney and propose an alternative with a higher probability for a profit. Disney (DIS) traded above average call volume on Friday, with calls outpacing puts by nearly two-to-one. While that is higher than the long-term average earnings-related move, Disney has been quite volatile in recent quarters. Buyers of those calls are betting Disney will rally at least 6.75% by the end of the week. An investor who is willing to take more risk in exchange for a higher probability of profit might instead consider a diagonal call spread.
