A clip shows a QAnon influencer being confronted over a past child-abuse conviction. The clip is from HBO Max documentary "This Place Rules." The belief that elite Hollywood figures and Democrats covertly run child abuse rings is one of the core claims of QAnon, the sprawling online conspiracy theory movement that Todeschini has promoted. "Do you feel like maybe you're projecting by …" said Callaghan, before Todeschini jumps back in to say: "No, I'm not projecting." "This Place Rules" explores the undercurrents that resulted in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, and is being streamed on HBO Max.

That 96% of that software is working," Hogben told a Stockbrokers and Investment Advisers Association conference, in footage seen by Reuters. More than a dozen brokers, other market participants and people directly involved in the blockchain project told Reuters the failure had shaken trust in the Australian exchange operator. After New York startup Digital Asset Holdings showed ASX executives a test transaction on its blockchain software, ASX in early 2016 signed the little-known company to begin exploratory work on an overhaul. From an initial plan to run about 12 of CHESS's 400 data transfers per transaction on blockchain, ASX decided the new system would include all 400 transfers, the person said. Its spokesperson told Reuters there was "no off-the-shelf solution available to meet the needs of the Australian market".
A US supporter of Ukraine proposed to his girlfriend with a message on a Ukrainian artillery shell. They used a Ukrainian service that offers customized notes on munitions in exchange for a donation. "When we first started dating, I made an offhand comment one night," 38-year-old Emily Knight told Insider. A few months later that's more or less what her partner David did, using a then-burgeoning Ukrainian service known as SignMyRocket that the couple had been browsing. Her mother, who was ready to foot the bill for a white wedding, has been told to send the equivalent cash to Ukraine, Emily said.
How is it legal to track someone's private jet? It's a question that has emerged in light of Twitter's decision to ban accounts that tracked private planes, including one — @ElonJet — that reported the flight activity of its own CEO, Elon Musk. ADS-B technology is now mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration on all aircraft to avoid such events. But ADS-B technology also allows airplanes to be easily tracked by anyone with a compatible receiver. The website is where Sweeney appears to have sourced some of the information used to set up the @ElonJet tracking account.
LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault is one: He recently sold his private aircraft so "no one can see where I go," and he now rents jets instead. The program allows private aircraft owners to block their planes from being publicly shown on websites like FlightAware and FlightRadar24, which use FAA data. Puma/Jay Z's jet tracked on ADS-B Exchange with LADD indicator. Sweeney's Elon Jet Twitter bot also recorded the flight. Elon Musk's private jet flight with PIA flag, tracked by Jack Sweeney.
The latest rule lays out who will be able to use the information and how they can access its contents. The Treasury in its proposal said it would keep tight controls on information in the nonpublic registry, limiting access mostly to U.S. law enforcement and regulators. Any department employee whose duties require it will be able to access the database, including for tax administration purposes, according to the proposal. Federal agencies engaged in national security, intelligence and law enforcement also will have direct access to the database. Foreign government representatives, including law enforcement agencies in other countries, will be able to request information from the database through U.S. counterparts, according to the proposal.
The list of Latino films inducted into the National Film Registry at the Library of Congress grew a bit longer Wednesday. “We cannot export to Russia, we cannot sell to Russia, and that’s why we just sell to Turkey,” he said. Azu International is an example of how supply channels to Russia have remained open despite Western export restrictions and manufacturer bans. At least $2.6 billion of computer and other electronic components flowed into Russia in the seven months to Oct. 31, Russian customs records show. Pixel Devices also said it’s not surprising that no one was in Pixel Devices’ office recently because most employees work remotely or in warehouse operations. Russian customs records show that Pixel Devices’ main client in Russia is a company in St. Petersburg called OOO KompLiga.
Link’s M&A chain breaks into pieces Down Under

MELBOURNE, Dec 8 (Reuters Breakingviews) - It’s hard to feel bad for well-compensated bankers but Link Administration’s (LNK.AX) M&A advisers at Macquarie (MQG.AX) and UBS (UBSG.S) need some Christmas cheer. On Thursday their client pulled the plug on negotiations for a partial takeover by Canada’s Dye & Durham (DND.TO), effectively accusing its suitor of dithering. Macquarie and UBS did manage Link’s sale of a slug of its 43% stake in mortgage-settlement company PEXA (PXA.AX) and may help distribute the remainder to shareholders. If Link offloads its troubled London unit, the slimmed-down company, worth perhaps A$800 million, could yet attract new interest. [1/2] Peru's interim President Dina Boluarte, who was called on by Congress to take the office after the legislature approved the removal of President Pedro Castillo in an impeachment trial, waves after being sworn-in, in Lima, Peru December 7, 2022. REUTERS/Sebastian CastanedaLIMA, Dec 7 (Reuters) - Dina Boluarte became Peru's first female president on Wednesday amid a political maelstrom when her predecessor and former boss Pedro Castillo was ousted in an impeachment trial and detained by police after he tried to illegally shut down Congress. But she shot to prominence alongside Castillo as the vice president on his ticket when the pair pulled off a shock election victory in 2021 for the far-left Peru Libre party. Once in office, Castillo tapped Boluarte as his development and social inclusion minister, a role she managed to keep until recently amid several cabinet shakeups. In recent weeks, Boluarte also distanced herself from Castillo, resigning from her role as a Cabinet minister after he replaced his prime minister in what some saw as an escalation in his showdown with Congress.
(Jack Taylor/Pool/Reuters)Dina Boluarte took office as the new president of Peru on Wednesday after the country's Congress ousted Pedro Castillo through a vacancy motion following his attempt to dissolve the governing body. Boluarte became the country's first female president, and just a few hours before, had served as Peru's vice president. It is the sixth time that Peru has had a new president in less than five years. In 2018, she was a candidate for mayor of Surquillo with the Perú Libre Party. During the 2021 general elections, she was a candidate for the vice presidency for the Perú Libre party.
CNN —Dina Boluarte took office as the new President of Peru on Wednesday, after Congress ousted former president Pedro Castillo. In this turbulent context, Boluarte, who until a few hours ago was the country’s Vice President, took over as Castillo’s successor after being sworn in before the plenary session of Congress on Wednesday afternoon. She is the first female president in Peru’s history, and the sixth Peruvian president in less than five years. During the 2021 general elections, Boluarte was a candidate for vice presidency for the Peru Libre party and Castillo’s running mate. However, she remained a member of cabinet as vice president.
Rodrigo Baylon's son, Lenin, was killed by stray bullets on Dec. 2, 2016, in Caloocan City in a shooting that also killed two women, according to a police report. But Lenin's death certificate had said he died from bronchopneumonia. Lenin was not the only victim whose death certificate did not accurately reflect the violent manner in which police and family members said they died, a Reuters investigation found. Baylon had sought to correct his son's death certificate but a lower court rejected his request in 2019, forcing him to file an appeal. IDEALS said Lenin's case forms part of submissions to the International Criminal Court (ICC), which has been asked by a prosecutor to resume its investigation into the drug war killings.
She says there are plenty of ways to save money on hotels, gifts, dresses, and makeup. It's why she's attended 15 wedding events across the country over roughly the past year, including seven weddings, four bachelorette parties, and four bridal showers. She sometimes feels she has "no excuse" not to attend every wedding, bachelorette party, and shower she's invited to. She was set to attend weddings in New York and Oregon over back-to-back weekends when she decided she needed a break and decided to skip both of them — the only two weddings she's missed this year. But she says she's learned how to budget, save money, and when it gets to be overwhelming, prioritize which weddings she will attend over others.
The Health Resources and Services Administration, which aims to improve health care for underserved people, offers many of these grants. But the use of methadone for addiction treatment is tightly regulated, due to concerns that it can be abused. Federal regulators approved Suboxone in 2002, opening an avenue for addiction treatment in towns without methadone clinics. Or a patient’s primary doctor could take over the buprenorphine treatment after an addiction treatment specialist stabilizes a patient. Storjohann said some health care professionals believe addiction treatment would lead to frustration, because patients can repeatedly relapse.
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus on Monday nominated dozens of Latino musicians to the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry in an effort to increase Latino representation. "Latinos are nearly 20% of the US and widely bilingual — but of the 600 titles in the Recording Registry, less than 4% are from Latino artists," Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas, wrote on Twitter. “I want for the contributions of our musicians to be recognized and celebrated in the way that they deserve, because they have made a mark in America,” Castro told Axios in an interview. The National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress chooses 25 recordings each year to showcase the range and diversity of American recorded sound and to increase preservation awareness for future generations. Since the deadline for public nominations for the 2023 registry has passed, the National Recording Preservation Board will work with Castro to consider nominations, Steve Leggett, the board's program director, told Axios.
Eisai and Biogen are scheduled to present full data from their lecanemab study on Tuesday at the Clinical Trials on Alzheimer's Disease conference in San Francisco. Lecanemab’s success rests on years of research into the causes of Alzheimer’s as well as advances in measuring amyloid deposits through brain scans and spinal fluids. At least 16 treatments are being tested in clinical trials, with results expected over the next three years, according to a Reuters review of the clinicaltrials.gov registry. The drugmaker has been largely absent from the Alzheimer's space after the high-profile failure of its drug verubecestat five years ago. But several antibody therapies from Lilly, Biogen and AbbVie(ABBV.N) that were designed to slow the rate of tau accumulations failed outright last year.

More than 100 groups have asked the DEA to create a registry of providers allowed to continue prescribing controlled substances online. Health startups and medical associations are lobbying for permanent permission to prescribe controlled substances remotely, part of a broader debate over the future of telehealth services that boomed during the pandemic. The push comes after some online startups faced scrutiny from lawmakers and pharmacies over their prescription practices. To maintain pandemic-era telehealth practices, more than 100 groups asked the Drug Enforcement Administration this month to create a registry of providers allowed to prescribe drugs online for conditions including opioid addiction. That would protect their operations when the Biden administration ends the Covid-19 public-health emergency, during which restrictions on telehealth have been relaxed.
House prices fell for the first time in 28 months in October, according to a survey from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors which also showed a measure of expectations for house prices in 12 months' time slumped. During the financial crisis house prices fell around 19% from peak to trough but have since roughly doubled, according to Land Registry data. When asked about the chance of a price crash within a year nine of 16 respondents said it was high or very high. Rating the value of national house prices on a scale of 1 to 10 from extremely cheap to extremely expensive, the median response from analysts was 8, up from August's 7 estimate. In London, usually bolstered by foreign investment and a dearth of supply, the median forecast showed prices would fall 7.0% next year.
