The Republican states have argued that they have suffered damages and injuries by spending millions of dollars on DACA recipients. Nina Perales after appearing in federal appeals court in New Orleans to defend the policy. The court may dismiss the case, refer it back to the lower court or rule against DACA, which could then be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Nearly half of DACA recipients are married and 50% of them have a child. Under his most recent ruling last September, only current DACA recipients or those whose DACA statuses expired less than a year can continue to renew them every two years.

One measure on the ballot in New York state this November means two very different things to its supporters and its opponents. Advocates of the measure argue that it is simply a way to codify New Yorkers’ right to reproductive care. The Coalition to Protect Kids-NY has taken to calling the measure the “Parent Replacement Act.” The group argues that the measure would be used to strip rights from parents and push transgender rights for minors, in particular. The coalition's website includes no articles or other information about the ballot measure seeking to codify a right to abortion. Hochul’s office has helped lead the state’s Democratic Party to spend over $1 million to advertise in favor of the measure, including local ads, campaign yard signs and mailers.

CNN —Scooter Braun would like to change the subject. The music exec particularly would like for people to stop talking about his very public and controversial sale of megastar Taylor Swift’s master recordings, saying that “five years later, I think it’s time to move on” from the topic. “I think that it’s important in any kind of conflict that people actually communicate directly with each other. Audience members walked out of a recent "Terrifier 3" screening, and one person vomited. A violent scene in "Terrifier 2" helped create buzz around the movie, helping it make $15 million. AdvertisementAudience members were so disgusted by the ultra-gory horror movie "Terrifier 3" that they walked out of a screening last week — which is great news for its marketing team. The hype likely helped the independent movie rake in $15 million against a budget of $250,000, despite having no backing from a major Hollywood studio. It remains to be seen if "Terrifier 3" will be another cult hit — and what horrors will befall the victims of "Terrifier 4," which was greenlit in September.

Missy Jenkins Smith was shot at the age of 15 in the school shooting at Heath High School. She chose to forgive the shooter, refusing to let anger dictate the rest of her life. It was a cold morning on December 1st when I got to school after nearly a week off celebrating Thanksgiving. Before the day started, a group of us gathered in the lobby of the school to pray. It was a completely safe school — some would say the safest school of all the high schools in our area.

The players we heard from, including world No 1 Novak Djokovic, almost unanimously described playing Nadal on clay as “the toughest test in tennis”. The moment I saw I had an email from my solar company, I knew my nightmare was about to take another unsettling turn. But he didn't know any more than I did about how much longer my solar panels would remain useless. Meanwhile, my solar panels have been sitting on my roof for four months, entirely unused, taunting me from above. AdvertisementI also reached out to California's Contractors State License Board, which regulates solar companies, asking what recourse SunPower's customers had. But it seems ludicrous to buy a solar system that I had no intention of buying in the first place.

CNBC's Jim Cramer said Wednesday that as earnings season begins, it's wise to keep in mind that sometimes bad news is baked into a stock's price before the report. Cramer pointed to Wall Street's reaction to PepsiCo in the lead-up to, and wake of, its Tuesday report. He noted how shares dipped but managed to recover even though the company posted a revenue miss. While the snack and beverage maker did miss on revenue, it managed to beat earnings expectations. The company lowered its full-year outlook for organic revenue, citing weak demand in North America as shoppers buy fewer snacks.
