Oil prices plunged to their lowest level since December 2021, with Brent oil falling 4% to $68.99 on Tuesday. OPEC cut its oil demand outlook and delayed production boosts, while US production hits record highs. In its monthly oil market report, OPEC cut its outlook for oil demand because of the deceleration in China's economy. That's nearly double its oil production levels in 2014. Senior market analyst David Morrison at Trade Nation said in an email that investors shouldn't expect a rebound in oil prices anytime soon.

The mission, dubbed Polaris Dawn, was set to take flight as soon as 3:38 a.m. This launch attempt comes after several issues hampered the Polaris Dawn crew’s efforts to get off the ground in late August. Because carrying out a spacewalk will create a drain on oxygen supplies, the Polaris Dawn mission will have only enough life support for five or six days in space. If successful, Polaris Dawn would beat that record by about 20 miles (32 kilometers). Polaris Dawn may also mark the farthest any woman has ever gone into space.

Now a father, Jones continued to work steadily through the 1980s. (He won a second Emmy that night for his supporting turn in the TV movie “Heat Wave,” about the 1965 Watts race riots.) Over the ensuing three decades, Jones continued to work continuously — even after he was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 1995. That he never won an Oscar for a specific movie role, denying him the coveted EGOT, is a lingering symbol of just how much he was underappreciated over a prolific and profound career. Taylor, the UCLA professor, always includes a clip of Jones in the 1987 production of “Fences” in his master class on acting.

A shutdown would close federal agencies and national parks, while limiting public services and furloughing millions of workers just weeks before the election. House Republicans have now settled on some lines of attack, which they'll highlight in politically charged GOP hearings and investigations into both Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. House GOP probesAfter spending much of the 118th Congress focused on investigating Biden, House Republicans are now shifting their focus to Democrats’ new presidential ticket. Republicans are also focusing on the botched U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, which the Trump campaign has criticized Harris over. The long-awaited Google-DOJ showdown focuses on the $31 billion portion of Google’s ad business that matches website publishers with advertisers. “One monopoly is bad enough, but a trifecta of monopolies is what we have here,” said Wood, the DOJ attorney, referring to Google’s publisher ad server business, its advertising exchange AdX, and its advertiser ad network. Authorities have called for that group of businesses within Google — which is distinct from Google’s search or search ads business — to be broken up. Factoring in those other sources of competition drops Google’s share of the ad exchange market from 34% to 17%, said Dunn, Google’s attorney. Still, a breakup of Google’s ad tech business could potentially trigger a shakeup of the digital advertising industry and Google’s role within it.

The DOJ and the states are seeking a breakup of Google's adtech business. Separately, they said that while a separation of Google's ad server and its ad exchange would be good for competition in the adtech market, it might drive ad server costs up for publishers. Google's ad server is "a loss leader, they make all their money in AdX," the exec said, referring to Google's ad exchange that connects buyers and sellers. Global regulators have Google in their sights, tooAny unraveling of Google's ad empire would be complex. Over the pond, the European Union said last year it might look to break up Google's adtech business.

How to trade Adobe's upcoming earnings using options

I'll break down various option trade scenarios into the earnings, focusing on one that will benefit from a big move in any direction. Adobe's Creative Cloud subscription model generates recurring revenue and maintains a solid customer base, from freelancers to large enterprises. Adobe's Document Cloud, featuring Acrobat and PDF solutions, is critical in digital document management and e-signatures. Of course, any bears out there could also use a calendar to bet on a downside move, using a $500 Sep/Jan put calendar. Combining the call and put calendar is a trade I usually refer to as a strangle swap.
