Britain's advertising regulator has banned an ad campaign promoting the green initiatives of Shell, saying the marketing of the oil giant's lower emissions energy products was "likely to mislead" consumers. All published in 2022, the ads sought to raise awareness of the range of Shell's energy products under a campaign tagline of "The U.K. is ready for cleaner energy." The Advertising Standards Authority said Tuesday that, following an investigation, it had concluded that the ad campaign may lead people to overestimate the firm's investment in clean energy. "We strongly disagree with the ASA's decision, which could slow the UK's drive towards renewable energy," a company spokesperson said. The ASA ruling noted that Shell believed the ads "accurately represented" the range of lower emissions energy products and services it offers and that any mention of the firm's high-carbon products would have been "counterproductive."

CNN —Whether children were breastfed as infants and for how long may have an impact on their test scores when they are adolescents, according to new research. What the study team found was that there was a modest improvement in test scores associated with being breastfed longer, Pereyra-Elías said. Consequently, the results only show a correlation between breastfeeding and test scores — not causation. The researchers tried to control for many factors that might influence their results, like the mother’s cognitive ability, but they couldn’t account for everything in an observational study, Pereyra-Elías said. The difference this study showed was modest, Pereyra-Elías added, meaning that it does not make a big enough difference on the test scores that it should cause parents worry, Pereyra-Elías said.

Gilad Shainer, a senior vice president at Nvidia, said Nvidia worked with 800 startups in Israel and tens of thousands of software engineers. Shainer said AI was the "most important technology in our lifetime" and that to develop AI and generative AI applications large graphics processing units (GPUs) were needed. Nvidia bought Israeli chip designer Mellanox Technologies in 2019 for nearly $7 billion, outbidding Intel Corp.Shainer said Nvidia's first priority for the supercomputer was its Israeli partners. Lilly's drug, Verzenio, is used in high-risk patients with HR-positive HER2-negative breast cancer that is more likely to reoccur and has already breached the patient's lymph nodes. In a research note earlier this month, Guggenheim analyst Seamus Fernandez said Kisqali is already taking market share from Pfizer's Ibrance in metastatic breast cancer. Merck's Keytruda is also being watched for what benefits it could offer early-stage lung cancer patients .
