People obtained an exclusive clip from a new CNN miniseries, "The Many Lives of Martha Stewart," in which several people recounted what it was like being in prison with Stewart. She served five months in Federal Prison Camp Alderson in West Virginia and another two years of supervised release. A representative for Stewart did not immediately respond to a request for comment from BI sent outside regular business hours.

BI spoke with another Walmart Spark worker who said they were deactivated immediately after trying to complete the identity verification late last year. AdvertisementGig workers for apps like Spark, Instacart, DoorDash, and Grubhub often have their accounts suspended with little notice or explanation. The rollout comes after some Walmart Spark drivers were found using multiple accounts under false identities to claim more orders and make more money. "The third-party identity verification tool is working as intended. "My account was deactivated after the identity verification," one post from November on r/Sparkdriver reads.

Instacart confirmed on Sunday it was using AI-generated imagery and recipes. The AI images featured physically impossible compositions, unnatural shadows, and strangely blended textures. Other recipes discovered by Reddit users, meanwhile, had the AI-generated images replaced with what appears to be stock photography. Some AI-generated imagery was still live on Instacart's site as of Wednesday. A startup is using text-to-photo technology to create AI imagery based just on menu descriptions to help restaurants build out online menus without paying for photography.

Walmart 's decision to split its stock 3-for-1 has revived an old debate: when is the right time to split a stock? There's no clear answer to this, but one fact is clear: stock splits are far less common than 20 or 30 years ago. That's likely because the institutional base for stock ownership has come to dominate the market. What effect does a stock split have on trading? More than 400,000 associates participate in Walmart's Associate Stock Purchase Plan today, which allows eligible associates to buy stock conveniently through payroll deductions and provides a 15% company match on the first $1,800 each year."

They were taken at a depth of 16,400 feet, about 100 miles from Howland Island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, which Romeo's team considered one of the likeliest areas for Earhart's plane to have come down. AdvertisementThe plane is made primarily from aluminum, Jourdan told The Washington Post back in 2001, discussing a search at a similar depth and location. At those temperatures, even Earhart's charts and other papers may have been preserved, The Post and Courier reported.

Political Cartoons View All 253 ImagesHow did Deep Sea Vision detect the object that could be Earhart's plane? But it wasn't until the team reviewed sonar data in December that they saw the fuzzy yellow outline of what resembles a plane. “In the end, we came out with an image of a target that we believe very strongly is Amelia’s aircraft," Romeo told The Associated Press. But he said that Romeo’s team must provide “a forensic level of documentation” to prove it’s Earhart’s Lockheed. He would have expected to see straight wings and not swept wings, like the new sonar suggests, as well as engines.

Walmart store managers are set to receive annual stock grants ranging from $10,000 to $20,000. AdvertisementIt's a good year to be a store manager at Walmart. Fresh off the announcement earlier this month of substantial pay and bonus increases, the company said Monday that it is adding annual stock grants of up to $20,000 to the store managers' compensation packages. AdvertisementThe amount of the grant will depend on the size of the store, with $10,000 for Hometown store managers, $15,000 for Neighborhood Market or Division 1 store managers, and $20,000 for Supercenter managers. Roughly three-quarters of Walmart store managers started off in hourly roles, and the company does not require a college degree to be considered for the job.

Walmart said it hasn't made any changes to store managers' pay structure in more than a decade. U.S. managers of the sprawling supercenters, which run about 180,000 square feet, will receive $20,000 in stock grants. Walmart said the stock grants will vest over a three-year period, with ownership for one-twelfth of the grant total coming every quarter. The new starting annual base salary for U.S. store managers will range from $90,000 to $170,000. That means that the average base pay for store leaders will go to $128,000 from $117,000, according to Cedric Clark, executive vice president of store operations at Walmart’s U.S. division.

When Jon Stewart left "The Daily Show" in 2015, he had a modest but meaningful audience on cable TV. When he comes back next month, he'll find that in his absence, the show's audience has gotten much, much smaller. "The Daily Show's" overall audience has shrunk by 75% — from 2.2 million viewers a night to 570,000. And the age of the audience has skyrocketed because younger viewers are barely watching at all. On Wednesday, when I got these numbers from Nielsen, I asked someone who has spent a lot of time in late-night TV to guess the age of the Daily Show's audience today.

Jon Stewart is returning to "The Daily Show" — but only on Mondays. On the other hand, maybe wondering about Stewart's TV audience isn't the right question. If TV ratings aren't important, then why would Stewart come back to a TV network — and why would a TV network care about landing Stewart? Doing a thing he's good at on Comedy Central — the thing he was good at doing on Comedy Central a decade ago — could be a real boost. AdvertisementOne theory is that Stewart's old audience, who are … old, will indeed come back to watch him. But even if they don't, the TV people I talked to argue that it won't matter that much to Comedy Central.

If the calculations predict that the trust's remainder interest is zero, the beneficiaries are exempt from estate tax even if the assets actually appreciate by a greater amount. If the trust assets are invested and achieve an annual rate of return of 9% a year, the CLT's remainder will be $2.1 million. Advertisement"It's a fantastic low interest rate play," said Renn. "The problem now is rates have really risen and it's to the point where some investments clearly can outperform a 4% or 5% interest rate, but others might struggle."
