Read previewSpotify just announced it's testing a new parental control feature that will allow parents to block explicit lyrics and other content. AdvertisementOn all accounts, it's possible, deep within user settings, to turn off explicit lyrics, which makes songs marked "E" unplayable. It will direct you to the exact toggle switch in Settings to turn explicit content back on. The new parental controls will allow a parent to set this up in a way that kids can't just turn it back off. This is for those of us born in the late 1990s on the cusp of both the millennial and Gen Z markers. While I do have some firsthand memories, unlike Gen Z, the bulk of millennials were older kids or teens and thus more capable of processing what happened. I feel nostalgic for things I wasn't part ofFrom boy bands to platform flip-flops, I often feel nostalgic for a millennial culture I didn't fully experience. As one VC partner told Business Insider at the time: "Sam is bigger than Taylor Swift." But the bigger you are, the faster the fall, and a few months later, things began to unravel. Others simply said Altman was overhyped, that he didn't have all the answers that the public and investors seemed to expect of him. Thanks to good old-fashioned capitalism, Altman and OpenAI have enjoyed business win after win and held their positions as the leaders in the aggressive AI race. "I thought Sam Altman did a really good job in the special," she told The Washington Post in a discussion about her TV program on artificial intelligence.
