I'm going to outline our approach to handling a possible pullback from all-time highs following the CPI that calls the 2024 Fed rate cuts into question. I'm using the S & P 500, Nasdaq-100 and an option hedge I may implement personally, and for my research and wealth management clients. Following a horrible bear market from 2021-2022 we spent most of 2023 rallying and here we are at new all-time highs. The S & P 500 weekly chart shows a basic 5-wave Elliott trend that consists of 3 separate market advances labeled as 1,3, and 5. The Nasdaq 100 just broke out to new all-time highs immediately following the 2nd worst correction since in 2000.

Super Bowl Sunday in Las Vegas will feature the Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers. MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minneapolis City Council overrode a mayoral veto on Thursday and approved a resolution that calls for a cease-fire in Gaza and for an end to U.S. military funding to Israel. Wazwaz said the Minneapolis resolution is unique because it calls for a complete end to U.S. aid to Israel. Activist investor Elliott Management has a "sizable" investment in e-commerce firm Etsy , which announced on Thursday that Elliott partner Marc Steinberg would join the company's board. The activist investor has built a roughly 13% position in the stock, a person familiar with the matter told CNBC. The position would make it Etsy's largest investor. Still, the e-commerce company's stock is down about 10% year-to-date. It competes with e-commerce companies including Amazon, which has its own handcrafted products platform.

Research suggests that higher education correlates with higher earnings. In four states, more than 60% of working age people had some form of post-high school education – exceeding the foundation’s broader goal. Nevada landed at the very bottom of the list, with an educational attainment rate of 42.7%. In the most recent version of the rankings, Massachusetts, Colorado and Vermont were ranked the highest for educational attainment. Post-high school educational attainment percentages for Black, Hispanic, Latino and Native American adults were all far below the national average, according to the report.
