“It’s super scary,” a passenger told Taiwan’s United Daily News in a video upon returning to shore under the escort of a Taiwanese coast guard ship on Monday. “(The Chinese coast guard) chose a tourist vessel because it’s high profile – you would expect lots of people on the boat with cameras and phones,” he said. The stakes are high, as the increased presence and closer proximity of Chinese and Taiwanese coast guard vessels raise the specter of miscalculations that could potentially spiral into open conflict. Speaking to reporters about the inspection by the Chinese coast guard, Taiwan’s Defense Minister Chiu Kuo-kcheng highlighted such risks, saying the defense ministry is “very concerned” about potential miscalculations. However, I quickly learned that having a common name was going to make that difficult. Instead, the precocious little diva that I was, every Sarah I encountered posed a threat to my uniqueness. I combined my first and middle names, Sarah Elizabeth, into something I thought was unique, yet not so different that friends and family couldn’t catch on: Sarahbeth. No sooner than the ink dried on my new Social Security card did I learn the challenges of having a unique name, which I hadn’t anticipated. One particular annoyance sprouted immediately: having to spell it out or explain it every time I introduced myself (“Sarahbeth, one word, no hyphen, lowercase b…”).

Despite his death, Kyrkach-Antonenko found some new meaning, hope and purpose with the birth of their child. The Ukrainian parliament passed legislation in February to allow and fund the use of soldiers’ frozen sperm in case of their death. Once President Volodymyr Zelensky signs the bill into law, it will for the first time allow the widows of Ukrainian soldiers to use their dead partners’ reproductive cells – both sperm and eggs - to have children. It will also enable wounded soldiers to use their preserved reproductive cells to have children where their injuries would normally make that impossible. The possible injury to soldiers’ reproductive organs and trauma affecting the quality of sperm make cryopreservation of reproductive cells worthwhile, she told CNN, mentioning allegations of castration.

Opening a joint bank account is different from opening up an individual bank account. Both owners have full access to a bank account, and joint bank account rules also dictate specific actions if one owner dies. When you're opening up a new bank account, you'll receive a bank account agreement that lists the bank's conditions and rules. Additional rules to keep in mind with joint bank accountsWhen you open a joint bank account, Bera Daigle also suggests being mindful of another bank account rule — equal withdrawal rights. A joint bank account beneficiary can't set up direct deposits, make withdrawals, or view your bank account when you're alive.

The private rocket company SpaceX has switched where it is incorporated to Texas from Delaware, its founder, Elon Musk, said on Wednesday, weeks after a Delaware judge voided his pay package at Tesla, another company he owns. A spokeswoman for Ms. Nelson’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Mr. Musk, a billionaire who lives in Texas and also runs the carmaker Tesla, has had issues with Delaware. Last month, a judge there voided the pay package that had helped to make him the world’s wealthiest person. The judge ultimately ruled that Mr. Musk had effectively overseen his own compensation plan, valued at more than $50 billion last month, with the help of compliant board members.

The food scene is pretty diverse, and London has a reputation for having chain restaurants and upscale dining experiences, like the Ritz and after-the-theater restaurants around Covent Garden. The first sign that Tyler Chase got that he might be dead came at a convenience store. He had food stamps, but his benefit card didn’t work. The next sign was when he contacted Oregon state officials, who told him that a death certificate had been filed in his name. Then, weeks later, came the most disturbing development: An urn of ashes had been sent to his family, and it was sitting in his cousin’s closet. Mr. Chase’s life coursed through years of drug use, homelessness, severed family ties and a bureaucracy that documented his death without his fingerprints or any immediate family present when the body believed to be his was cremated.

Matthew Hebert, 44, mistakenly thought he was allowed to fly his drone at the time, per prosecutors. AdvertisementA 44-year-old man faces up to four years in federal prison after he flew a drone over a National Football League game in Baltimore, federal prosecutors said on Monday. Hebert flew the drone at around 330 feet for about two minutes, and took at least six photos of himself and the stadium, prosecutors said.
