A man went on a stabbing rampage in a residential neighborhood in Northern Illinois on Wednesday afternoon, killing four people and wounding seven in an attack that included a home invasion and involved multiple crime scenes, the authorities said. Three victims were killed at the scene, and a fourth died at a hospital, the authorities said. The seven wounded were taken to area hospitals, where their conditions ranged from critical to stable. They noted that no one else was being sought in the attack. “We don’t believe there’s any other suspects that are on the run or at large at this particular time,” Chief Redd said at a news conference.

The Walt Disney Company and Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida have reached a settlement over control of a special tax district that includes the Disney World theme park in Orlando, the company said on Wednesday. “We are pleased to put an end to all litigation pending in state court in Florida,” Jeff Vahle, president of Walt Disney World, said in a statement. An Ohio man who threatened to kill Katie Hobbs in 2022 during her successful bid for governor of Arizona was sentenced on Monday to two and a half years in prison, prosecutors announced. The man, Joshua Russell, 46, of Ohio, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Arizona in August to one count of making an interstate threat, according to the Justice Department. He was indicted in December 2022 on charges that he had left several voice messages containing death threats with the office of Ms. Hobbs, who was then Arizona’s secretary of state. Ms. Hobbs, a Democrat, was the state’s top election official when Joe Biden’s 2020 victory there was certified. In the letter, Mr. Russell apologized to Ms. Hobbs and said that he was being treated for anger and drug and alcohol abuse, which he cited as a factor in making the threats.

New York CNN —A plane carrying 21 Americans fleeing Haiti arrived in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday night, the latest in a series of US-chartered flights from the embattled Caribbean nation, which has descended into chaos amid rampant gang violence and political instability. CNN —If ISIS was indeed responsible for the attack Friday at a Moscow-area concert venue that killed at least 133 people, it would suggest that, unfortunately, the terror group is making something of a comeback. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack; a US official told CNN the US has no reason to doubt it. Through that attack, ISIS-K showed that the group, which is very anti-Shia, could target a hostile state like predominantly Shia Iran. In March alone, a Russian state news agency said the country had thwarted multiple ISIS-related incidents, including a plan to attack a synagogue in Moscow. As for capability, the ISIS-K attack in Iran earlier this year demonstrated that the group could carry out a large-scale attack outside of its home base in Afghanistan.

Steve Harley, the 1970s British rock star who topped U.K. music charts with the single “Make Me Smile,” died on Sunday. No cause was given but Mr. Harley had announced last month that he would step away from the stage to undergo treatment for cancer and previously canceled several concerts scheduled for this year. Mr. Harley was the frontman of the band Cockney Rebel, which he formed in the early 1970s. His biggest hit was the 1975 single “Make Me Smile,” in which Mr. Harley’s even-keeled vocals and melancholic lyrics cruise over instrumentals bearing the optimistic sound distinct to bands of the era. The song hit the top of the British charts in February of that year.

Gary Fritz, chief of applications at Stanford Health Care, said the organization had initially started by testing the tool within its exam rooms. Dr. Christopher Sharp, chief medical information officer at Stanford Health Care and one of the physicians who tested DAX Copilot, said it is "remarkably seamless" to use. Fritz said it is still early in the product life cycle, and Stanford Health Care is still working out exactly what deployment will look like.

CNN —The younger brother of Toronto Raptors forward RJ Barrett has died, the family announced via the team on Thursday. The Raptors and Canada Basketball shared a statement from the Barrett family saying Nathan Barrett died Tuesday, “surrounded by his family, church and friends.”No cause of death was given. The 23-year-old RJ Barrett, who was born in Toronto, was drafted with the third pick in the 2019 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks out of Duke University. Barrett was traded to the Raptors in December and is averaging 19.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game this season. Barrett did not play in the Raptors’ 113-104 loss to the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.
