CNN —Democrats should not make the mistake of underestimating former President Donald Trump. Moreover, they note, Haley was able to win independent voters who theoretically would be more amenable to President Joe Biden than Trump in the fall. Moreover, the number of Republicans who keep saying they won’t vote for Trump under any circumstances, gives Democrats hope that on Election Day, many voters in the GOP won’t turn out. But these arguments downplay the threat Trump will pose to Biden in November by ignoring several fundamentals. Trump is succeeding even though the United States has never had a major presidential candidate saddled with so much legal baggage.

Amalija Knavs was a textile worker and homemaker, while her husband worked as chauffeur before becoming a car dealer. It is freezing out, so we’re putting on the mittens and the hat and talking to my colleague Michelle Goldberg, who’s been following the race. I mean, this is going to be the third consecutive election in which Republicans, barring some spectacular turn of events, nominate Donald Trump. And so it’s just all really, really boring. I think it’s already maybe irreversible in the Republican Party. But, at the same time, I just think that — imagine what it will be like to see Donald Trump inaugurated again.

Multiple EU officials and diplomats noted to CNN that his sudden recollection came at a particularly sensitive time, as the EU attempts to build its own defense capabilities outside of the US-led NATO alliance. And his hostility toward the Ukraine war effort has an impact even now, playing into the Republican Party’s reluctance to pass more US funding for Ukraine.
