Media analysts widely expect the league to select at least three distributors for its next media rights deal after the current setup expires in 2025. Comcast's NBCUniversal could be a frontrunner for a spot in the NBA's new media deal alongside Amazon, Nispel said. NBA players could be poised to earn sky-high paydaysThe NBA's last media deal — the $24 billion contract it struck in 2014 — was nearly triple the value of its previous pact. The pressure is now on the NBA to deliver a media deal that satisfies teams, athletes, and fans. Still, Macquarie media analyst Tim Nollen is optimistic about the size of the NBA's next media rights deal.

Washington, DC CNN —Americans’ moods soured this month, largely due to a wobbly stock market. The survey also showed that Americans became more pessimistic about the economy’s outlook for the year ahead. The tech-heavy Nasdaq tilted into correction territory Thursday as shares of some Big Tech companies slipped. Meanwhile, Americans’ inflation expectations for the year ahead worsened in October, jumping to 4.2% from 3.2% in September, the highest reading since May. The Federal Reserve pays close attention to inflation expectations, particularly longer-term expectations.

The Philadelphia Eagles couldn’t wait to upgrade at safety, acquiring two-time All-Pro Kevin Byard from the Tennessee Titans earlier this week. “This is my eighth season and I’m feeling really good, coming off a bye week, too. As the tech titans prepare to square off in the great battle for cloud computing, Jefferies analyst Brent Thill says only two firms are likely to emerge as front-runners. "This is really a two-horse race, it's Amazon and Microsoft, " he told CNBC's " Squawk on the Street " on Wednesday. However, Thill believes Microsoft can take market share from the e-commerce giant. Big Tech was in focus Wednesday after Microsoft posted better-than-expected quarterly results that sent the stock up more than 2% . Google parent Alphabet, meanwhile, posted disappointing third-quarter cloud revenue and shares fell 9%.

Albanese is the fourth world leader to be honored with a state visit during Biden's term, after the leaders of France, South Korea and India. Hundreds of lawmakers, business titans and celebrities are typically invited to state dinners, but the White House keeps the guest list secret until just before people start arriving for the black-tie affair. The dinner program, including an exchange of toasts, will unfold in a temporary pavilion being built on the White House lawn. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles traded for two-time All-Pro safety Kevin Byard on Monday to help a banged-up secondary hours after beating the NFL's best offense, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press. The Eagles are sending the Tennessee Titans safety Terrell Edmunds and fifth and sixth-round draft picks in 2024, according to the person who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the trade has not been announced. The Eagles limited Miami’s offense to season lows in points scored, total yards (244), passing yards (199), rushing yards (45) and time of possession (23:17). Reports of the trade came while Eagles coach Nick Sirianni talked to reporters and he said he couldn’t talk about those. For the first time in a long time, tech workers are in a funk. This rare combination of generous compensation and a reasonable work-life balance kept tech workers happier than employees in other industries. Economy wide, there were on average 6.6 front-line workers per manager in 2018 and 2019, but post-pandemic, the ratio dropped to 6 to 1. It's possible that as tech companies have grown into more complex organizations, more management layers are necessary. Fundamentally, it's about listening to and elevating the voices of front-line employees.
