My family recently visited Ireland to celebrate my son's third birthday. I've been to every country in Europe (except Russia), and in my opinion, one of these countries provides the ideal destination for toddlers: Ireland. Jennifer Sizeland and her family stayed on the coast in Ireland. Jennifer Sizeland's son loved exploring in nature during their vacation. My son loved visiting the Seal Rescue Center in County Wexford, where we saw baby seals being nursed back to health.

Solid-state batteries have long been billed as the "holy grail" of sustainable driving. As the name suggests, solid-state batteries contain a solid electrolyte, made from materials such as ceramics. Automakers have invested billions of dollars in solid-state battery research and teamed up with developers to produce their own versions for mass production. Tomohiro Ohsumi | Getty Images News | Getty ImagesJapan's Toyota, for instance, has said it is aiming to bring solid-state batteries into mass production between 2027 and 2028. North Korea got a good deal by sending its officials to help Russia's Ukraine war, experts said. In a discussion on Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said: "North Korea has, in fact, entered the war," per state-run outlet United24 Media. Even limited numbers of North Korean officials aiding Russia offers a vital boost for Kim Jong Un and his regime, experts told Business Insider. "It's a win-win situation," Joseph S. Bermudez Jr., a North Korea defense expert at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said. BMW CEO Oliver Zipse says a 2035 gasoline ban will hit the European auto industry. Zipse's warnings come amid fears in the auto industry of a Darwinistic price war with China. AdvertisementA "correction" of the planned 2035 gasoline vehicle ban, Zipse said, would help reduce European OEMs' reliance on China for batteries. This, Tavares said, is because automakers will have to continue to invest in both electric and gasoline vehicles, thus incurring higher costs. Seoul, South Korea CNN —North Korea blew up parts of two major roads connected to the southern part of the peninsula on Tuesday, South Korean authorities said, after Pyongyang warned it would take steps to completely cut off its territory from the South. South Korea's Defense MinistryOn Monday, South Korea said it had detected signs that North Korea was preparing to demolish roads that connect the two countries, warning that the explosions could occur imminently. North and South Korea have been separated since the Korean War ended in 1953 with an armistice agreement. Since January, Pyongyang has fortified its border defenses, laying land mines, building anti-tank traps and removing railway infrastructure, according to the South Korean military.

As has been the case for previous Woodward books, those who don’t come out well from his reporting publicly dismiss it. Woodward notes that neither Biden nor Trump spoke to him for this book, but he still got great access. The Biden administration has halted the shipment of massive 2,000-pound bombs to Israel, but otherwise, the large flow of American weapons to the Jewish state continues. Russian imports of goods from China surged in September. Russia relies heavily on China for trade due to Western sanctions and isolation from global markets. AdvertisementRussia's imports of goods from China increased sharply last month, a sign that Moscow is leaning more heavily on Beijing after the two countries affirmed their economic ties. The surge of trading activity follows a fresh cooperation agreement Russia and China finalized in late August, which vowed, among other things, to deepen trade ties. Moscow has grown more reliant on Beijing as an economic partner since being targeted by Western sanctions in 2022.

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea is getting ready to blow up roads that cross the heavily militarized border with South Korea, Seoul said Monday, amid an escalating war of words after the North accused its rival of sending drones over its capital, Pyongyang. North Korea on Friday accused South Korea of sending drones to scatter a “huge number” of anti-North leaflets over Pyongyang, in what it called political and military provocation that could lead to armed conflict. The North Korean army said last week that it would completely cut roads and railways connected to South Korea and fortify the areas on its side of the border, KCNA reported. North Korea over the weekend warned of a “horrible disaster” if South Korean drones were again found to be flying over Pyongyang. South Korea has sought to strengthen its anti-drone defenses since 2022, Lee said, when five North Korean drones entered its airspace and flew over the capital, Seoul, for several hours.
