VF Corp withdrew its full-year revenue and profit forecasts on Monday, with demand for its higher-priced apparel and footwear easing as customers turn more cost conscious, especially in the United States. Shares were down 4% in extended trading after VF Corp also reported a lower-than-expected second-quarter profit. Sales in Americas, its biggest market, fell 11% in the reported quarter, but rose 8% in Greater China helped by a rebound in demand after the COVID-19 pandemic. The company posted quarterly adjusted earnings per share of 63 cents, below analysts' expectations of a profit of 65 cents. Its second-quarter revenue fell 2% to $3.03 billion in the quarter ended September, compared with analysts' estimate of $3 billion, according to LSEG data.

The company also gave fourth-quarter revenue guidance ranging between $442 million and $462 million, while analysts called for $451.7 million.

Alo Yoga founders Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge have hired investment bank Moelis (MC.N) to advise on options that include selling a stake in the company, the sources said. No transaction structure has been agreed, and it is possible that Alo Yoga decides against any deal, said the sources, who requested anonymity because the matter is confidential. Spokespeople for Alo Yoga and Moelis declined to comment. Alo Yoga is part of Harris and DeGeorge's company Color Image Apparel, which also includes their Bella+Canvas brand. Kim Kardashian’s underwear brand Skims, which sells active and loungewear, also raised financing this year at a roughly $4 billion valuation.

He admitted that he had too much confidence in new management when he bought Foot Locker for the CNBC Investing Club's Charitable Trust. In retrospect, orchestrating a comeback for a mall-based store with a lot of excess inventory like Foot Locker is just too difficult, Cramer said. "Management matters, sure, but when you bring in a new pilot on a crashing airplane, they can't defy gravity," Cramer said. The analysts pointed out that Birkenstock's sales last year were slightly higher than Dr. Martens' projected sales this year. However, the German company sells over twice the volume of footwear as Dr. Martens, which has a higher average selling price. NEW YORK (AP) — Birkenstock is making its debut on the stock market as Wall Street trades in its wingtips for sandals for a day. The 249-year-old German maker of upmarket sandals set a price of $46 per share for its initial public offering of stock, valuing the company at $8.64 billion. Birkenstock is due to start trading Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange under the “BIRK” ticker symbol. Birkenstock Holding Ltd. sold about 10.8 million shares in the offering, raising about $495 million. The company’s footwear was first cobbled together by Johann Adam Birkenstock in Germany in 1774.

Birkenstock was founded in 1774 in the German village of Langen-Bergheim by Johannes Birkenstock and his younger brother Johann Adam Birkenstock, who were both shoemakers. After the IPO, L Catterton will hold an 82.8% stake in Birkenstock and control a majority of the combined voting power of its outstanding shares. Birkenstock's shares will start trading on Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker "BIRK".
