But for many decades, the NFL and other leagues opposed having sport franchises in Las Vegas, most likely due to the city’s deeply rooted gambling industry. “Vegas fans tend to be sports fans, too, and sports have helped us expand the customer base that are willing to consider Las Vegas,” Hill said. And during the past two years, Las Vegas and other tourist-centric cities have benefitted from consumers’ post-pandemic splurges on experiences and travel versus goods. The loudest investor chatter for months has insisted the heavyweights of the Nasdaq have been everything to the market in 2023. Sunday is the second anniversary of the all-time closing high in both the Nasdaq Composite and Nasdaq 100 indexes, which remain 12% and 4 % underwater even after their monster gains in recent months. It's relatively rare for the Nasdaq 100 – the most easily investable part of the Nasdaq and the one most reflective of the mega-cap dominance – to enter a two-year downturn. Only three of the Big Seven have outperformed the Nasdaq 100 over the past two years – Apple, Nvidia and Microsoft — while Meta Platforms has kept pace and Amazon, Alphabet and Tesla have lagged. Friday showed signs of outright rotation, the Russell 2000 up 1.3% versus a flat Nasdaq 100.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The visuals of the world-famous Strip expected to emerge from the Las Vegas Grand Prix on Saturday night has enticed sports bettors so much that the event is expected to set Formula One and motor sports wagering records. “Race weekend in Las Vegas has the potential to shatter every company record for the sport,” BetMGM chief revenue officer Matt Prevost said in a statement. Pullen said races typically draw bettors especially interested in that circuit, but Las Vegas is attracting more of the casual or cross-over gambler. “It'll blow away NASCAR,” Pullen said. The trend is similar at Caesars, with Verstappen going from minus-250 to minus-225 “and slowly coming down and down,” Pullen said.

Target sales fell in the period just before the holiday shopping season as it grappled with choosy shoppers cutting spending on some products and visiting stores less often. Comparable sales, those from stores and digital channels operating at least 12 months, fell 4.9% in the three months ended Oct. 28 from the prior year.

On TikTok, about a third of the content we watched were ads — but it didn't always feel that way. Other users have complained on the site that they are receiving ads "all over their FYP" or ads "every 6 videos." We focused solely on TikTok videos and slideshows and excluded TikTok stories and TikTok livestreams — even streams that were explicitly there to sell products, like QVC. The key difference is that you scroll past a TikTok ad. Kristen Schiele, a USC Marshall School of Business professor, told Insider we could see an increased ad volume since advertisers push more ad content around the holiday season.

Over many years, I’ve developed a method for making pie dough that’s as foolproof as possible, and I encourage you to try it. At the same time, pie dough can be an Achilles’ heel for many home cooks, so if you have a go-to recipe, feel free to use it. Since pies made scratch always require a lot of time, feel free to make just one or several. I highly recommend no actual pie-making on Thanksgiving Day, to keep your oven free for turkey and sides. I guarantee that by the time you cut into the pies, no one will care — or even remember — if your stuffing came from a box.

The disclosures highlight Zuckerberg’s sway over decisions at Meta that can affect billions of users. And they also shed light on tensions that have occasionally arisen between Zuckerberg and other Meta officials who have pushed to enhance user well-being. In response to the newly unsealed communications, Meta spokesman Andy Stone said such image filters are commonly used in the industry. “These unreacted documents prove that Mark Zuckerberg is not interested in protecting anyone’s privacy or safety. “Clegg’s comments follow a pattern and practice at Meta where employees repeatedly flagged under-investment in well-being tools, despite having the research,” Qureshi said.

These new fashion collections were designed by AI

Editor’s Note: This article was originally published by The Business of Fashion, an editorial partner of CNN Style. The winners designed their collections using AI image generators Midjourney and Stable Diffusion, and in some cases editing in Photoshop. RevolveSabral is "eager to share my unique vision that bridges the worlds of architecture, fashion design, and technology," he told Revolve in a statement. But in Abbasi’s view, one of the key learnings from AI Fashion Week is that the technology can also allow people who don’t necessarily have training in fashion to produce innovative designs.

Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger can look back and laugh now about their heated rivalry as they once sought to one-up each other in terms of box-office muscle. Pakistan is home to over 4 million Afghan migrants and refugees, about 1.7 million of whom are undocumented, according to Islamabad. Cash-strapped Pakistan, navigating record inflation and a tough International Monetary Fund bailout program, also said undocumented migrants have drained its resources for decades. Pakistani citizens who help undocumented migrants obtain false identities or employment will face legal action, Bugti warned. In fact, it's well past the point when CEOs should have started recalibrating their approach to China. But when it comes to de-risking, there is now the risk it's one more race where we risk falling behind to China. There's a limited window available for foreign businesses in China's market to de-risk in a way that protects their shareholders' interests. On multiple occasions, we've witnessed foreign companies get this calculus and timing wrong. These examples underscore the risk of underestimating the complexities of the Chinese market and losing ground to local competitors over time.
