There is a seemingly endless amount of research on how to set and accomplish goals — visualize, loop in friends, record milestones. Some goals will not lead to more satisfaction, though, a recent study shows. Extrinsic goals, or aspirations that generally require validation from the external world, are actually linked to ill-being, according to a study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. Pursuing beauty, fame, or wealth, for example, are all extrinsic goals. Intrinsic goals, on the other hand, are linked positively to well-being and negatively to ill-being.

Only three times since the 1950s has the winner of the New Hampshire primary not gone on to be the Republican nominee. New Hampshire gets 22 delegates in the Republican primary process – less than 1% of the total delegates who will vote at the convention this summer. Trump is the clear front-runner and holds 50% support among likely Republican primary voters in the Granite State, according to a CNN poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire and released Sunday. The first step of building a new financial budget is usually taking a detailed account of what you are spending. Recording where resources are being allocated is key to understanding what exactly you need to shift about your habits. The same can be said if you want to change how you prioritize your time as it pertains to personal goals, says Rainer Strack, senior partner emeritus at Boston Consulting Group. "Time is the only asset that we can't multiply," Strack tells CNBC Make It. It's a scarce resource, and therefore, you have to understand what you want to do with this kind of resource, concretely."

Two of the prospective jurors said they believed the 2020 election was stolen, the false claim that Trump has continued to make as he runs for president again. Judge Lewis Kaplan asked the potential jurors questions about possible biases in the trial to decide how much money in damages Trump must pay E. DENVER (AP) — Frontier Airlines has settled a lawsuit filed by female pilots who accused the airline of discriminating against pregnant or breastfeeding employees. In the agreement announced Tuesday, Frontier will let pilots pump breast milk in the cockpit during “noncritical phases” of flights. The Denver-based airline also agreed to let pilots who are breastfeeding reduce their flying time and treat pregnancy and breastfeeding the same as other medical conditions if they make pilots unable to fly. In the case involving Denver-based pilots, the airline also agreed to comply with a current union agreement letting pregnant pilots fly if they have medical approval. The airline also agreed to continue to let breastfeeding pilots reduce their schedules to 50 hours of flying per month, and to update and make available a list of lactation facilities at airports.

Anna Moneymaker/Getty ImagesThe House is expected to vote soon on a motion that would expel New York Republican Rep. George Santos from the chamber. An expulsion vote is not like a censure in that the member is not admonished by the chamber or shamed as they are with censure. They will decide how Santos’ office is cleared out, among other steps. Both Traficant’s and Myers' privileges were stripped immediately following the expulsion vote because they had previously been convicted of their crimes.

Dads who are slightly anxious or depressed raise kids with fewer behavioral problems and better test scores, according to a new study published in Frontiers of Psychology. Researchers studied 61 children, 36 boys and 25 girls, and their parents. They examined how depressive or anxious symptoms in fathers during the pregnancy period, and then again when the children were between ages 6 and 8, affected the kids' behavior. The results, researchers note, contradicted their hypothesis. The kids were all doing better than expected.

When you think of office holiday party faux pas, drinking too much is probably the first one that comes to mind, says Brandon Smith, a career coach and therapist known as The Workplace Therapist. However, there's another common, but less stigmatized, mistake many people make at their end-of-year celebrations, he says: talking about work. "I would avoid talking about work at the holiday party," Smith says. "It's a way to prove their self-worth. The second might have a hard time setting boundaries and telling people 'no.' Whether you're the former or the latter, you have to accept that your co-workers might have different priorities than you, especially during the holidays. Fortunately, there are ways to get through this period while valuing other peoples' time and your own.

Those polled reported some pretty crucial mental health benefits for having an office bestie: support and enjoyment in the workplace were among the top two pros, followed by stress relief. When forging relationships in the office, you need to remember that the stakes are different, says Glassdoor chief economist Aaron Terrazas. "Workplace friendships will never be the same as friendships outside the workplace, and it's important to keep in mind that you may need to continue working with work friends even after a friendship sours," he says. Here are two potential drawbacks to having a best friend at work, and how to manage each situation.
