She was taught to do her work, hit her goals and not cause any trouble. "Growing up, I was never taught the importance of making myself visible, of continually following up as a way of staying top of mind," she wrote. I don't know how JPMorgan Chase knew that I would spend $200 on Botox in Argentina, but it did. It's great that banks and credit-card companies are getting better at discerning which payments are fraudulent and which are legit. Credit-card fraud protection is still far from perfect, but there's no denying that the technology is improving. So I reached out to some credit-card companies and academics to learn more. But it's cool that companies really are making fraud detection better, especially in a world where fraudsters themselves are constantly getting better.

Looking back, I think being a single mom was hard. However, I think today's solo parents have a more difficult time due to the pressures of social media. We adopted our boys in 2012 and 2013, and there was a Facebook mom group for everything. I sometimes wonder how my experience parenting my daughter in the 90s would have been made better or worse by the presence of social media. My experience with Facebook mom groups has taught me that they're mostly a place of judgment and one-upmanship.

Ga. prosecutors have found emails and texts linking members of Trump's legal team to a key voting breach, per CNN. The breach in question occurred in Coffee County, a rural GOP-heavy jurisdiction in southeastern Georgia. And some of the individuals linked to the breach in Coffee County might also be charged in the larger criminal investigation. According to individuals who spoke with CNN, investigators in Georgia have amassed evidence that the breach in Coffee County was driven by Trump's legal team so his allies could examine sensitive voting software. Per the CNN report, Georgia investigators have probed the participants of the breach, which included Misty Hampton, the Coffee County official who appeared to have written that invitation.

Several individuals involved in the voting systems breach in Coffee County are among those who may face charges in the sprawling criminal probe. They have gathered evidence indicating it was a top-down push by Trump’s team to access sensitive voting software, according to people familiar with the situation. That group included members of Sullivan Strickler, a firm hired by Trump’s attorneys to examine voting systems in the small, heavily Republican Georgia county, according to text messages obtained by CNN. Friess then notified operatives who carried out the Coffee County breach and others working directly with Giuliani that Trump’s team had secured written permission, the texts show. Coffee County was the only county in Georgia that failed to certify its election results due to issues raised by Hampton at the time.

“And we kind of thought that they were going to take us.”They waited, well into the early hours of the morning – before finally getting an email from the US State Department. However, the US State Department has advised that American citizens in Sudan “should have no expectation of a US government-coordinated evacuation at this time” due to the security situation and the closure of the airport in Khartoum. “It is imperative that US citizens in Sudan make their own arrangements to stay safe in these difficult circumstances,” said State Department deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel at a news briefing last Friday. The French Embassy in Sudan was carrying out a separate evacuation for French citizens, and foreigners of other nationalities were welcome. Welker also argued that Americans in Sudan are largely there for humanitarian and educational reasons – and that the US should help retrieve all those who want to leave.

‘Violent Night’ Review: Santa’s Merry Massacre
  + stars: | 2022-12-02 | by ( Kyle Smith | ) www.wsj.com   time to read: +1 min
In the gleefully crass comedy “Violent Night,” Santa is real, but also really naughty. “Violent Night” might as well be called “John McClaus.”Combining “Bad Santa” with “Die Hard”—tra-la-la-la-la meets yippee-ki-yay—is such a knockout idea that it’s a shame “Violent Night” isn’t better. “Bad Santa” (2003) might be the funniest Christmas movie of all time, and “Die Hard” (1988) is one of the few ’80s action flicks that people still talk about. There are many smart comic ideas in “Violent Night,” but they are scattered unevenly throughout, the villains are dull, and most of the imaginative energy goes into devising spectacularly gory murders involving the distressingly off-label use of Christmas paraphernalia. The unabashedly tasteless midnight movies of the ’70s and ’80s that inspired this one understood the value of keeping things tight.

Airbnb hosts say there are two reasons for the higher fees and the chore demands: Covid-19 raised sanitation requirements, and — you guessed it — inflation. Airbnb allows hosts to set their own rates and encourages them to avoid cleaning fees if possible. BOTTOM LINEThe social media outrage about cleaning fees and chores is certainly a PR headache for Airbnb, but it’s far from a crisis. Plus, Jon speaks to Redfin’s Chief Economist Daryl Fairweather about what homebuyers need to know about mortgage rates. ), but mortgage rates may keep going up as long as the Fed keeps raising interest rates.
