The video captures a disturbing sequence: A woman can be seen walking along a sidewalk in the Bronx on an early May morning, when a man, his face covered, approaches from behind. The scenes captured on the video sowed fear among many residents of the South Bronx. On Saturday, the police said they had arrested a man — Kashaan Parks, 39, also of the Bronx — in connection with the assault. Parks had been arrested two other times: Once in 2018 for domestic assault, and in 2013 for theft of service in the transit system. The woman, who was not named, went to Lincoln Hospital in the South Bronx after the attack.

The publicity stunt turned out to be a promotion for the film “Argylle,” which would be released a few weeks later. “That may be fine in U.S. sports,” Pat Nevin, a popular Chelsea player in the 1980s who worked for the club until the end of last season, told me. “But to a football fan, that hurts.” A few months after leaving Chelsea, Nevin went on the BBC to warn against the prospect of adopting a popular feature at many American sports venues. “I told them, ‘No, no, don’t do a Kiss Cam,’” he says. “ ‘Such a small thing, but you can’t imagine the reaction you’re going to get.’”

New York CNN —The New York Stock Exchange opens every workday morning at 9:30 am ET with the fast-paced bang-clang of a gleaming brass bell. The stock exchange, the largest in the world by market capitalization, has opened with sonic fanfare for more than 150 years. From Wall Street to the Nasdaq Exchange in Times Square to the Chicago Board Options Exchange, loud, ringing bells bookend each trading session. Stock exchanges say that the bell ringing remains both a critical guide and a ceremony that celebrates the market’s resilience through devastating lows and exuberant highs. The stock exchange had been closed since two hijacked commercial airliners were deliberately crashed into the World Trade Center's twin towers on September 11.

___The generational shift at quarterback in the NFL reached a new milestone last week. This was the first time since Week 6 of the 2002 season that no quarterback born in the 1980s took the field. That raised the total of rookie starting QBs this season to nine, tying the non-replacement record set in 2019. The youth movement at quarterback has played a role in the struggles on offense across the league in the first half of the season, with scoring at its lowest mark through nine weeks since 2007. The federal government has called on western states to come to agreement on water cuts. California couldn't come to an agreement with six other states on the Colorado River. The proposed cuts come as decades of drought have dwindled water supplies relied on by millions. Well, six of the seven states that are part of the Colorado River basin did come to an agreement, but California — the largest user of water from the river — wouldn't get on board. "The challenge is that we need to get back to balance in relation to water usage and what the system is producing," she said.
