New York CNN —General Motors is recalling nearly 820,000 pickup trucks over a potential safety issue involving tailgates. General Motors did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment. General Motors said it received one complaint of minor injury and three of minor property damage. Dealers will replace the exterior switch that opens the tailgate with material that is more water resistant. General Motors said it will begin letting customers know whether their car is affected on March 18.

Because of my less-than-stellar college experience, I wasn’t expecting much from graduate school, which I attended about five years after receiving my Bachelor’s degree. But I found that graduate school was incredibly fulfilling. My graduate school program also allowed me to teach a college course to undergraduate students. A Hertz customer found 10 pounds of rancid meat in his rented Tesla's front trunk, the WSJ reported. He told Insider the rotting meat had burst from its packaging and was oozing all over the frunk. The next renter made the unlucky discovery: Costco bags and a 10-pound pack of rancid meat that he told Insider was absolutely pungent. "Buried underneath the pile of groceries was the source of the stink," Marc Froemelt told Insider. He told Insider that he noticed the strange smell, but attributed it to odors from the roadside.

Stellantis is recalling about 1.4 million pickup trucks worldwide because the tailgates may not close completely and cargo could spill onto the road. The recall covers Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups from the 2019 to 2022 model years. The company, formerly Fiat Chrysler, says it found that striker plates on the pickups may not be lined up right to allow complete closure. Most of the recalled trucks are in North America. Pickups with “multi-function tailgates,” the Ram 1500 Classic, and trucks with sensors that alert drivers to unsecured tailgates are not affected by the recall, the company says.
