CNN —The Israeli military rescued four hostages in a special operation in the Nuseirat refugee camp, central Gaza, that Gazan authorities said killed 236 people and injured more than 400 others. An Israeli policeman from a special counter-terrorism unit was killed in Saturday’s rescue operation, according to Israeli police. At least 236 people have been killed as a result of the rescue operation and more than 400 injured, hospital officials in Gaza said Saturday. The killed and wounded were taken to two hospitals in Gaza, Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat and Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al-Balah. An Israeli military spokesperson put the number of casualties from the operation at “under 100,” and had no information on how many of those were civilians.

There’s another connection between Canada, asthma and my family — and it’s a somewhat accidental one. Unfortunately, the challenges that my mom faced getting asthma medication persisted. There were times that my mother didn’t fill her prescriptions for her asthma medication out of concern over the cost. Research shows that if you have a parent with asthma, you have a 25% likelihood of developing asthma yourself. Still, I remain vigilant because there is no cure for asthma and my family is so susceptible to its ravages.

CNN —The Hubble Space Telescope will transition to a new way of operating that aims to prevent the space observatory from experiencing lapses in its ability to observe the universe, according to NASA officials. The storied telescope, which has captured breathtaking images of the cosmos for 34 years, has traditionally operated using six gyroscopes. NASA's Hubble Space Telescope eyes the universe in May 2009 after one of the space shuttle missions to service the space observatory. The case regarding Google’s advertising technology is the first antitrust suit against a Big Tech company brought by the Biden administration. US District Judge Leonie Brinkema’s decision on Friday is a setback for the Justice Department, which sought a jury trial for the case.
