While the Amazon founder made waves last year with the debut of his megayacht Koru, Zuckerberg is the name on the yacht world's lips this season. Rumors began surfacing in March that the Meta CEO had purchased Launchpad — a Dutch-built, 118-meter motor yacht originally built for a Russian oligarch. AdvertisementNow that summer is here, Zuckerberg has debuted Launchpad — and her support superyacht Wingman — on the biggest stage in the yachting world: the Mediterranean. It's likely the yacht will continue to crisscross the Mediterranean this summer.

Neighborhood names are also shorthand for your rent or mortgage payments. In 2017, real-estate brokers in the historically Black New York neighborhood of Harlem sparked backlash when they tried to rebrand its south end as SoHa. At their best, new neighborhood names bring people together over a shared sense of pride in their little corner of the world. Along the way, these neighborhood names have veered into parody territory. I'm not saying that neighborhood names should be set in stone — in fact, I think it's natural for them to evolve alongside their populations.

Google on Thursday announced a major rebrand of Bard, its artificial intelligence chatbot and assistant, including a fresh app and subscription options. Google also announced new ways for consumers to access the AI tool: As of Thursday, Android users can download a new dedicated Android app for Gemini, and iPhone users can use Gemini within the Google app on iOS. Likewise, chief executives at tech giants from Microsoft to Amazon underlined their commitment to building AI agents as productivity tools. Google's Gemini changes are a first step to "building a true AI assistant," Sissie Hsiao, a vice president at Google and general manager for Google Assistant and Bard, told reporters on a call Wednesday. Currently, though, the tools, including Gemini, are largely limited to tasks such as summarizing, generating to-do lists or helping to write code.

X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, has a new motto, and it sounds like it belongs to an '80s cover band. It's the latest change in Elon Musk's rebrand of Twitter into an "everything app." X — the app formerly known as Twitter — has a new slogan, and it sounds a little too much like a Bon Jovi song. the app's page in the Apple App Store now reads, a change from the former tagline of "Let's talk." Declarative and reminiscent of an '80s rock band, the phrase is Elon Musk's latest change as he rebrands Twitter to X.

Threads took just five days to reach 100 million users when it launched earlier this month. But Mark Zuckerberg told staff that more than half of them haven't kept using the app, per Reuters. Threads has lost more than half its users, Mark Zuckerberg told staff on Thursday, according to Reuters. Meta's text-based app, designed to compete with Twitter, reached 100 million users in just five days — beating ChatGPT's time to reach the same milestone. Threads was conveniently launched just days after Elon Musk annoyed many Twitter users by setting temporary limits on viewing tweets.

New York CNN —Meta on Tuesday launched a highly anticipated “following feed” option in its Threads app as part of its latest batch of updates that could help the new social platform further chip away at Twitter’s position in the market. The option to see a reverse chronological feed of posts from only accounts a user follows had been one of the most requested features since Threads launched earlier this month. Meta has been steadily rolling out updates to Threads as it tries to keep users engaged in the new app. Threads had a hugely successful launch, topping 100 million sign-ups in its first week, but engagement has declined somewhat since then. Meta’s ongoing work on Threads comes as the chaos at Twitter continues.

Elon Musk has started having Twitter's iconic blue bird logo removed at the headquarters. One sign couldn't be taken down as it broke apart, leaving remnants still attached, per an NYT reporter. As Twitter rebrands to X, staff are taking down the iconic blue bird logos at its San Francisco headquarters. The Times earlier reported that work had started on detaching a ten-foot-tall bird icon in the office's cafeteria. "This is an extremely risky move because with X, Musk is essentially starting over while its competition is afoot," he added.

New York CNN —In a radical rebranding, Twitter owner Elon Musk has replaced Twitter’s iconic bird logo with X.Musk made the shock announcement of his plans early Sunday. “Interim X logo goes live later today,” he wrote, shortly before sharing a photo of Twitter’s headquarters lit up by a giant new X. Increasing the pressure, earlier this month rival social media platform Threads launched from Facebook (FB) parent Meta. Twitter had 238 million active users prior to being taken private by Musk in October 2022. Musk explained his approach to free speech by saying: “Is someone you don’t like allowed to say something you don’t like?

Twitter owner Elon Musk officially changed the company's famous bird logo to an "X" on Monday as part of a sweeping rebrand he announced on the social media site over the weekend. The transition from Twitter to X reflects Musk's vision to turn the platform into what he has called an "everything app." Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino wrote in a post Sunday that X will be "centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking." The company first began its transition to X in April, when the name of Twitter Inc. changed to X Corp., according to court filings. He shared a photo of the X logo projected onto the company's headquarters Monday.

Twitter has officially rebranded to "X" after owner Elon Musk changed its iconic bird logo on Monday, marking the latest major shift since his takeover of the social media platform. Twitter's world-renowned bird logo was transformed into an X, however. Asked if the logo would change in a Twitter Spaces audio chat, he said "yes," telling an unknown speaker: "We're cutting the Twitter logo off the building with blow torches." The shift from bird imagery to an "X" is the latest sweeping change since Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion last year. The latest changes come as the social media giant continues to face competition from Meta's new app, Threads, which launched earlier this month.

TripActions, a business-travel software startup, plans to integrate OpenAI’s ChatGPT capabilities across its online platform, an effort aimed at seizing market share by making expense reports easier to use. That way, the expense report is generated during the trip as expenses are incurred, Mr. Cohen said. “Generally, software in the business-to-business space is designed to serve the company,” rather than the employees, Mr. Cohen said. “Using AI helps you create the kind of software that I’m talking about,” Mr. Cohen said. PREVIEWSAP Concur has also begun using AI in its travel and expense software, which can “tap decades of expense data and experience tracking to identify hard-to-detect spend issues and anomalies,” said Charlie Sultan, president of Concur Travel.

Schlumberger Rebrands as SLB, Dropping Family Name
  + stars: | 2022-10-24 | by ( Will Feuer | ) www.wsj.com   time to read: 1 min
Schlumberger is changing its name to SLB, dropping the family name of the brothers who founded the oil-field services company nearly a century ago. The company said the punchier moniker, which is effective Monday, is meant to embrace its focus on new-age energy services, such as clean hydrogen and carbon-capture technology. The rebranding includes a new logo and comes as the company said it would focus on creating and scaling new energy systems, including carbon solutions, hydrogen, geothermal and geoenergy, energy storage and critical minerals.
The nearly 100-year-old firm, originally named after its founding family, has become a giant in oilfield services and equipment such as drilling and subsurface analysis. But it has shed old line products and recast itself as a digital services provider and supporter of cleaner energies. The rebranding is not a shift away from fossil fuels, Chief Executive Officer Olivier Le Peuch said in an interview. Many of its oil producing customers also are moving to embrace hydrogen and other renewable fuels, and low-carbon production techniques to cut greenhouse gas emissions. NEOM is Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's most ambitious project yet, although it has also met with scepticism from some observers. Subscriptions to NEOM's metaverse platform will help people from around the world to virtually visit before physically investing in the city, Bradley said.
