Washington CNN —Meta’s top executives, including CEO Mark Zuckerberg, ignored warnings for years about harms to teens on its platforms such as Instagram, a company whistleblower told a Senate subcommittee on Tuesday. Meanwhile, both parties have united behind blaming Meta for contributing to a nationwide mental health crisis. Bejar’s research “is basically a smoking gun,” Haugen told CNN in an interview Tuesday. “Every day countless people inside and outside of Meta are working on how to help keep young people safe online,” said Meta spokesman Andy Stone in a statement. He said everyday Americans understand “the harm being done” and compared it to harms from smoking.

Students were regularly subjected to sexual harassment by Hall, two former students told me. “I feel like so many of us were victims to the culture,” one former Rosemead student told Insider. Manipulation by a trusted adult has been passed like a virus to generations of Rosemead students. Five other current or former agents confirmed to Insider that some Arias agents wrote up policies in the names of fictional people or people who were dead. Amy Williamson, an attorney who represents dozens of current and former Arias agents in civil claims, said she received an inquiry from a US attorney's office. With regard to Insider's specific questions about Globe, AIL, and Arias, she said, "It is the Company's policy not to comment." Lusty asked questions about Russin's campaign of aggressive social-media posts since Zinsky filed suit, Williamson said, including posts about his gun purchases. Since Zinsky filed suit against him, Russin has made a string of threatening social media posts featuring firearms.

SYDNEY, June 15 (Reuters) - An Australian senator on Thursday said she was followed, aggressively propositioned and inappropriately touched by another senator in parliament house, and called on the government to make the building safer for women. "I experienced sexual comments and was inappropriately propositioned by powerful men," Thorpe told the Senate, where her comments are protected by parliamentary privilege. Thorpe made the comments on Thursday, after the previous day accusing Liberal Party senator David Van of harassing and sexually assaulting her during the previous parliamentary term. "I will fully cooperate with the investigators and answer any questions that they may have of me and Senator Thorpe should do the same," Van said. Thorpe's claims follow numerous reports of sexual abuse and misconduct in parliament, which led to an independent inquiry into parliamentary workplace culture which found one in three people working there had experienced sexual harassment.

Drop any Wall Street (or non-Wall Street) questions you have for me here. A quick refresher: JPMorgan accused Javice of juicing Frank's customer numbers in a lawsuit filed at the end of last year. Prosecutors charged Javice with wire fraud affecting a financial institution, securities fraud, bank fraud, and conspiracy. I've joked about it before, but Taylor Swift really should teach a class on this stuff for Wall Street. It's not the president or Wall Street or Congress that's to blame.

A biotech CEO famous for trying to reverse his age was accused of walking out on a cancer-stricken partner. Ex-fiancée Taryn Southern alleged that Bryan Johnson emotionally and financially manipulated her. "Trickery, deceit, preying on Ms. Southern's physical and emotional weaknesses and financial dependence, and creating confusion and fear with his threats of legal action were major features of Johnson's scheme against Ms. Southern," Southern's attorneys wrote. "He aggressively pursued and propositioned Ms. Southern's own friends and acquaintances – while other women were paid prostitutes or girls from 'Sugar Daddy" apps,' Southern's attorneys said in the suit. "He became obsessed with his sexual conquests and relaying the details of his triumphs to Ms. Southern under the guise of 'radical transparency and honesty.'"
Instead, the coveted junior recruit was benched, due to a decision from the state’s governing body for high school sports. Meanwhile, in a growing number of states, including California, even high school athletes can enter contracts. But boosters can pay prospective students through NIL deals, as long as the money is not contingent on enrollment or athletic performance. A University of Miami booster has earmarked $10 million to sign players to NIL deals through his companies. Cunningham’s message to high school athletes is “the grass isn’t always greener,” even in California.
Former employees of SpaceX have filed federal complaints against the company, alleging Elon Musk's venture illegally fired them in response to the concerns they expressed, including about sexual misconduct allegations directed at the CEO. Eight complaints, filed on Wednesday with the National Labor Relations Board, say the company conducted a "campaign of retaliation and intimidation" in response to employees who internally circulated an open letter to executives. The former employees allege that SpaceX violated the National Labor Relations Act of 1935 by firing them after they spoke up. The complaints also allege that SpaceX terminated four others in July and August "in retaliation" for either drafting or sharing the letter internally. The additional firings followed meetings and interviews with "dozens of employees" where SpaceX "falsely" said "the conversations were attorney-client privileged and could not be disclosed to anyone," according to the complaints.
Former Goldman Sachs workers filed a lawsuit over sexual-misconduct allegations from 2000 to 2011. They say the bank mishandled dozens of claims including rape and harassment at work. A Goldman Sachs representative said the complaints did not "reflect reality." "The plaintiffs' presentation of the complaints does not reflect reality at Goldman Sachs," a Goldman Sachs representative told Insider in a statement. The court papers allege that "at least seven" women employed by Goldman Sachs "reported criminal sexual assault, attempted rape, or rape" by male colleagues.
