Inspiration for the product that the world didn’t know it needed came from the “unconditional love” that Domenico Dolce – one half of the famous designer duo – has for his “loyal dog Fefé,” according to the company’s website. A series of well-groomed dogs appear on camera in a promotional film on the D&G website. As classical music plays in the background, a narrator says: “I am delicate, charismatic, authentic, sensitive, enigmatic, rebel, fresh, irresistible, clean. But those two words are a natural pairing when it comes the Transportation Security Administration’s annual canine calendar. The agency announced its 2024 version on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday – and let’s just say these safety-minded, hard-working pooches are positively precious. She was “one of several TSA canines who worked at Super Bowl LVII in Phoenix” back in February, according to a TSA news release. Actually, there’s more than year’s worth of dogs as the calendar offers up a few bonus canines at the end.

ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) — Five puppies learning to be assistance dogs had a howling good time Tuesday during a training exercise at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. During the training, the quintet of pooches and their trainers walked through a Transportation Security Administration checkpoint, rode an elevated tram and boarded an airplane. It was all part of an effort to acclimate the dogs to one of the many settings they may experience later in life. The training was led by Paws With A Cause — a Wayland, Michigan-based nonprofit that oversees the custom training of puppies that become assistance dogs for people with disabilities. The group pairs puppies with volunteers who raise and socialize the dogs for the first year of their lives.

Pet wellness brand Honest Paws is recruiting ambassadors for its peanut butter product. Americans spent $58.1 billion on pet food and treats in 2022, according to the American Pet Products Association. Pet wellness company Honest Paws is offering $100 an hour to dogs that can be ambassadors for its peanut butter, according to an August 1 announcement. Honest Paw's investment could go a long way to sell its peanut butter which comes with a nearly $30 price tag for each jar. Honest Paws did not immediately respond to a request from Insider for comment sent outside regular business hours.

Some people have even discovered romance at a dog park; personally, I found a real estate lawyer. This philosophy — that young dogs need to be socialized, and quickly — morphs naturally into a handy rationale for going to the dog park, once the dog is old enough. (Dog parks typically require — but rarely enforce — vaccinations for dogs.) This kind of exposure and stimulation is important for young dogs but it’s best administered gently, in small doses.

A massive new database of genetic information from dog tumors aims to use what we know about dog cancer to better treat it in humans. She wants to use AI to analyze the database's genetic information to match a dog's tumor to the type of treatment that's most effective. Using FidoCure, they selected dogs with a type of cancer that genetically mirrored human breast cancer.

However, that 4% increase in pet ownership has resulted in an 11% gain in pet spending, it said. "Despite now being [circa] 30 months away from the start of the pandemic, pet care is still going strong," AllianceBernstein analysts wrote. That pace is faster than 8% global growth rate from 2021 to 2022 predicted by Euromonitor and Bernstein analysis, the report said. It owns Diana Pet Foods, and is the leading pet food ingredients company.
