At a time when the box office is starved for content and audiences seem pickier than ever, Fathom Events is posting record revenue gains. In 2023, Fathom generated $100 million at the box office, a 116% increase over 2019 levels and its highest-grossing year ever. "These audiences are getting to enjoy classic films, either for the first time or for the first time, in a new way. Last year, the film extended its release to five days and snared $7.1 million, making it the highest-grossing classic film release in Fathom history. "They worked out the licensing and they created the marketing behind re-releasing these classic films that, you know, we just can't do ourselves.

But the recipe for the long-lasting pigment, made using Mediterranean sea snails, disappeared with the fall of the Byzantine Empire. Now, researchers have found the precious pigment within pottery fragments containing 3,600-year-old purple dye from a Bronze Age workshop in Kolonna on the Greek island of Aegina. Life for a vulnerable child in the Stone Age would have been difficult because Neanderthals moved from place to place. Meanwhile, the agency has selected SpaceX to design a vehicle that will drag the space station out of orbit at the end of the decade when it ceases operations and plummets into the ocean.

Tyrian purple was a highly prized pigment developed in the Bronze Age, and it retained its status into the late medieval period. Several pottery fragments had residue of Tyrian purple pigment, the research team revealed. The well-preserved pigment could be used to dye textiles today, lead study author Dr. Lydia Berger said. Once collected, the snails had to be kept alive until the purple dye makers were ready to crush them and extract the mollusk’s mucus glands. The process came with a fishy odor, one that the researchers recognized when they came across the purple pigment residue in the recent excavation at Kolonna, she added.

From there, Trump boasted that he had told White: “Why don’t you set up a migrant league of fighters and have your regular league of fighters. Obviously, Trump’s point in his migrant UFC proposal was that despite the toughness of the professional UFC fighters, the migrants coming to America are actually stronger, tougher and more dangerous. That moment came when Trump told the audience that the UFC president didn’t like the migrant fight league idea, adding, “But actually, it’s not the worst idea I’ve ever had.”Trump is telling the truth there: Musing about a migrant fighting league is vile — but it’s not his worst idea. Trump proposing a dehumanizing physical battle between migrants who would then fight the UFC champions — which conjures up Roman gladiator matches — is simply more evidence of Trump’s depravity.
