The Ohio vote is the latest test of where voters stand on one of the most consequential issues heading into next year’s presidential election.
Since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade more than a year ago, voters have defeated ballot measures that would have restricted abortion rights in other red states such as Kansas and Kentucky.
