And the availability of the VIPER spacecraft piqued the company’s interest for future projects, Intuitive Machines told CNN. To get reach that goal, Intuitive Machines will likely have to dip into its own funds to complete VIPER’s finishing touches before liftoff. The Simulated Lunar Operations Lab at NASA Glenn Research Center tested planetary roving vehicle systems and components for vehicles such as the VIPER Rover. The Senate is poised to take a key vote on major legislation to keep kids safe online Thursday- the most sweeping regulation of the tech industry in more than a decade. said the measures social media companies have put in place are "not sufficient." One, known as the Children and Teens' Online Privacy Protection Act, would ban targeted ads to kids and teens. Social media companies would have to automatically enable the strongest privacy setting for kids. But House Speaker Mike Johnson said in an interview that Americans need to have more power over what their kids see online.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., suggested Wednesday that the Supreme Court should punish at least two Democratic senators over their calls for Justice Samuel Alito to recuse himself from key cases related to former President Donald Trump. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut and Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island are bound by court rules that "provide for discipline against those who engage in conduct unbecoming an officer of the court," McConnell said on the Senate floor. But McConnell singled out Blumenthal and Whitehouse because they are members of the Supreme Court bar. They are therefore "potentially engaged in unethical professional conduct before the court," McConnell said of Blumenthal and Whitehouse, both of whom are members of the Senate Judiciary Committee. The responses from Roberts and Alito confirm that they also viewed the communication as public, Whitehouse added.

Senators passed a crucial procedural vote with wide bipartisan support, signaling that the foreign aid package has the strength to pass a final vote. The funding includes roughly $60 billion for Ukraine aid, $26 billion for Israel and $8 billion for Taiwan and Indo-Pacific security. Spending-wise, the legislation is similar to the $95 billion foreign aid bill passed by the Senate in February, which has been effectively shelved in the House in the weeks since. TikTok has pushed back on this proposal since the House passed it over the weekend. Those political threats, along with an increasingly razor-thin House Republican majority led Johnson to effectively table the Senate's $95 billion foreign aid bill for weeks.

We shared inside jokes about Grandpa's burial experience, watched Hallmark movies, and went through the Culver's drive-thru daily. I talked with Grandma about dating, being on dating apps, and the struggles of trying to meet people during the pandemic. We started dating at the same timeThat summer, between visits to my grandma, I met someone in Milwaukee, about 114 miles away from my apartment, and things steadily grew from first dates to weekly phone calls and beyond. I shared lots of updates with Grandma as we progressed from Tinder notifications to texts and pictures and voice memos. At the same time as me, my grandma had started seeing someone.

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., conducts a news conference after the senate luncheons in the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has quietly made changes to the Senate's informal dress code to allow senators to wear whatever they want on the floor, one person with direct knowledge told NBC News. The change would let Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., who is often seen wearing a hoodie and baseball shorts, wear his casual attire on the Senate floor whenever he wants. Fetterman, who was elected during last year's midterm elections, was seen wearing a suit and tie during his swearing-in in January. However, the senator has worn his casual clothes after he returned to the Senate following treatment for clinical depression earlier this year.

US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) speaks during a news conference following Senate Democrat policy luncheons at the US Capitol in Washington, DC, on May 31, 2023. "The Senate will stay in session until we send a bill avoiding default to President Biden's desk, we will keep working until the job is done," Schumer, D-N.Y., said on the Senate floor at the opening of Thursday's session. WASHINGTON — Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer will attempt to fast-track a bill through the Senate on Thursday to raise the debt limit for two years and cap government spending, as the U.S. barrels toward a June 5 deadline to avert a debt default. In exchange for giving their amendments a separate vote, McConnell hopes holdouts will agree to proceed with a full Senate vote on the debt ceiling bill before the weekend. Passing the debt limit compromise bill and sending it to President Joe Biden for his signature would "soothe the country and soothe the markets," McConnell said.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., conducts a news conference in the U.S. Capitol after the senate luncheons on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said Saturday he has been released from the rehabilitation facility where he had physical therapy for a concussion caused by a fall earlier this month. McConnell was at dinner on March 8 after a hotel reception for a campaign committee aligned with him when he tripped and fell. He was released from the hospital on March 13 and, upon the advice of his doctor, moved to an inpatient rehabilitation facility for physical therapy and to continue his recovery. In January, he became the longest-serving Senate leader when the new Congress convened, breaking the previous record of 16 years.

REUTERS/Sarah Silbiger/File PhotoWASHINGTON, Dec 14 (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate could give final approval by Thursday to a one-week extension of federal government funding before the midnight Friday deadline, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said on Wednesday. "The House is set to act on a one-week CR as soon as tonight and when that bill comes to the Senate we should be ready to act quickly, as soon as tomorrow if we can," Schumer said, referring to the "continuing resolution" stop-gap funding bill. The House of Representatives was scheduled to hold a first procedural vote on Wednesday on the one-week funding bill, which would clear the way for debate and a vote on passage.
