We're making six trades Monday morning, as the recent market volatility driven by fears of a U.S. recession intensifies. And lastly, we are buying 280 shares of Wells Fargo at $50.59, increasing its weighting in the portfolio to 3.80% from 3.35%. Last Friday, we said that we had our eyes on the pullbacks in DuPont, Dover, and Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo also pays a solid dividend and can repurchase stock — two factors that we gravitate to during volatile markets. Correction: An earlier version of this story misstated the number of shares being bought of Dover, Nextracker and Wells Fargo.

Shares of Nextracker dropped in extended trading Thursday as questions about the solar technology firm's backlog of projects overshadowed its better-than-expected quarterly results. Scrutiny of Nextracker's revenue backlog came more into focus during Nextracker's conference call with analysts. That, in turn, impacts the pace at which Nextracker's backlog becomes reported revenue. With interest rate cuts on the horizon, the economics of solar projects should get a whole lot better. Dover's active portfolio management and commitment to capital returns sweeten the investment case. Tobin said the moves will boost Dover's clean-energy portfolio and decrease its exposure to more cyclical capital equipment businesses. I think that what's doing better than planned as the margin performance of the business has just been exemplary through the quarter," Tobin said. Guidance Dover now expects adjusted full-year earnings per share between $9.05 and $9.20, up from its previous range of $9.00 to $9.15. Wells Fargo Why we own it : We bought Wells Fargo as a turnaround story under CEO Charlie Scharf. We are more excited by the outperformance of non-interest income than we are disappointed with the miss on net interest income. However, the team added, many of the factors driving net interest income are uncertain heading into the second half of the year. We don't like to see guidance misses, but bank interest income estimates depend on interest rates, which Wells Fargo has no real control over. Non-interest income increased 12% thanks to higher asset-based fees driven by an increase in market valuations.

Nvidia's Hopper chips include the H100, which was announced in 2022 and faced severe supply shortages last year as the AI gold rush intensified. Tuesday's AWS news represents a pushout in demand for Nvidia chips, not a loss of it. That would be the so-called "digestion" phase for AI chips that Wall Street has been speculating about since last year. If anything, AWS deciding to wait for the more-powerful Blackwell chips could mean the digestion phase is further out on the horizon than initially thought. Unlike last year, when Nvidia's chips were in such short supply, there are now rival chips out there, such as AMD's MI300X, which is angling for a corner of the inferencing market .

Tusk told BI that Last Brand has "continuously expanded their product line smack dab into our backyard." According to Gupta, the founders renamed the brand Quince in 2020 upon its official launch to play on the word quintessential, a reference to the brand selling premium essentials. "Off the record, we were eating at a sister restaurant to a three-Michelin-starred restaurant named Quince in SF, and we really loved the name," Gupta said. For now, the restaurant Quince will continue to deal with confused customers. "I know that we're outmatched and all that, but it kind of left us no choice," Tusk told BI.

We'll look at a health insurer stock with an interesting set-up heading into a big industry conference this week and break down various options trades being applied on it. Centene (CNC) traded nearly 9 times the average daily call volume on Friday ahead of Barclays 26th annual Global Healthcare Conference this week. Most active were the March 22nd weekly $82 calls and the March 28th weekly $82 calls. The mid price on the March 28th weekly $82 calls was nearly $2, substantially higher than the trader who initiated the block paid, and the weekly March 22nd calls would collect less than a quarter. If one owns the stock, a hedge might make sense, such as a weekly at-the-money put spread as illustrated below.

The new “Lisa Frankenstein,” by Zelda Williams in her directorial debut, hits some of the same notes. Kathryn Newton stars as Lisa Swallows and Cole Sprouse as The Creature in LISA FRANKENSTEIN, a Focus Features release. This is where “Poor Things” and “Lisa Frankenstein” diverge. Bella Baxter in “Poor Things” starts out as a clumsy innocent, but she becomes more knowledgeable and self-confident over time. “Lisa Frankenstein” shows why that’s a loss for all of us — and Lisa is ready to cut up the patriarchy to prove it.

US Representative Patrick McHenry (R-NC) speaks to members of the media outside the office of US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), at the US Capitol in Washington, DC, on October 3, 2023. WASHINGTON — Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., announced Tuesday that he won't seek re-election in 2024, a shocking move to many of his colleagues that will further thin the ranks of Republican institutionalists in Congress. He gained national attention during his three-week stint in October as House Speaker pro tempore after Republicans ousted Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., from the position. Despite his solidly conservative positions and voting record, McHenry is seen on Capitol Hill as a pragmatist and widely respected in both parties. During the speaker battle, McHenry was cited by Democratic leaders as the sort of GOP lawmaker who they trust enough to work with.

More startling, though, is that the movie is also often eccentric and at times eccentrically funny. You expect refined craft and technique from Scott and the pleasures of spectacle filmmaking at its most expansive. It opens in Paris amid that convulsion of violence called the Terror, with surging, shouting crowds and the metallic hiss of the falling guillotine blade. Aristocrats are losing their heads (Scott re-creates one execution with gory verisimilitude), and Napoleon Bonaparte — a mesmerizing, off-kilter, lumpish Joaquin Phoenix — will soon profit from the chaos. Before long, the story has jumped forward and now Napoleon is in the southern French port city of Toulon, where he strategically routs the Anglo-Spanish fleet that has taken the city.

The good news is that CEO Rene Haas expects revenue in the fiscal year to March of roughly $3 billion, in line with analysts' expectations. The less good news, which dragged Arm’s shares down 8%, is that Haas said revenue in the fiscal quarter to December might be anywhere from $720 million to $800 million. Admittedly, at the midpoint of the range that’s only $10 million below the mean analyst forecast, per LSEG.

SEOUL, Oct 20 (Reuters) - South Korea reported on Friday the country's first outbreak of lumpy skin disease at a cattle farm, the agriculture ministry said. Four cows at a farm in the western city of Seosan were found to have been infected with the disease after showing skin lesion, the ministry said. Lumpy skin disease, which causes blisters and reduces milk production, is a highly infectious viral disease affecting cattle and buffalo that is transmitted by insect biting. Authorities have restricted access to and from the affected farm and plan to cull some 40 other cows at the facility, it said. The government has also imposed a 48-hour transport ban on cattle across the country starting on Friday afternoon to prevent the risk of a further spread of the disease, the ministry said.
