Queer and trans people have, amazingly, taken that demand and subverted it, and that’s why those kinds of stories are so important. I promise there are some simple and immensely helpful ways in which LGBTQ people and allies can take action in June and every month. Commit to learning and teaching: Even members and strong allies of the LGBTQ community can benefit from fresh learning. After all, the LGBTQ community is anything but a monolith — there are so many diverse forms of representation and a landscape that is quickly evolving. It’s also not a bad time to support brands that are supportive of the LGBTQ community.

The NAACP on Saturday issued a travel advisory for Florida over Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis' "aggressive attempts to erase Black history and to restrict diversity, equity and inclusion programs" in the state's schools, the organization said in a statement. Under DeSantis, "the state of Florida has become hostile to Black Americans and in direct conflict with the democratic ideals that our union was founded upon," Johnson added. The NAACP's travel advisory for Florida was initially proposed to the board of directors by the organization's Florida State Conference, which voted unanimously in favor of it in March. DeSantis' office and the NAACP did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the travel advisory.

Co-founder and executive director of the African American Policy Forum Kimberlé Crenshaw coined the phrase intersectionality in 1989. As part of that larger movement, terms like intersectionality and intersectional feminism became much more prevalent in left-leaning circles. People practice Judaism differently, and thus different sects may face different problems. In that group alone, there may be LGBTQ+ men, men from lower economic backgrounds or men with disabilities.

Diving into the poll's results, 40% of all respondents — over 620 respondents — said they "definitely" or "might" vote for DeSantis.
