My husband and I rarely catch up with our own parentsWe see my husband's family about twice a month, as they live nearby. watch nowDrugmakers are betting that delivering radiation directly to tumors will become the next big cancer breakthrough. That can allow the treatment to deliver radiation to cancer cells and spare the rest of the body from the level of damage that comes with many cancer drugs. For Pluvicto, patients come in once every six weeks for up to six treatments. One opportunity Bristol Myers Squibb sees is combining radiopharmaceuticals with existing cancer drugs like immunotherapy, said Robert Plenge, Bristol's chief research officer. But she thinks the technology will become an important part of cancer drugs in the next decade.

New York CNN —Most of the 10,000 hotel workers who went on strike during the busy Labor Day weekend have returned to work Wednesday, but one group of 700 union members in San Diego will stay on strike for the foreseeable future. Those workers, employed at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, will remain on strike until there is a contract agreement, their union, Unite Here, says. The union has not ruled out using the same rolling strikes strategy this time, or expanding the strike to other locations. The strategy is intended to help workers keep as many days of pay as possible during a contract negotiation. Beyond the hotel workers, limited duration strikes have been used to win labor deals for school employees in Los Angeles, health care workers at Kaiser Permanente, janitors, nursing home employees and other workers in Minnesota who went on strike together in March.

With the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Samsung has effectively addressed some of these compromises. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Samsung's iconic flip phone has been upgraded with a new model, the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Now, the broader conservative movement is trying to figure out what it means for a potential second Trump administration. “Since the Fall of 2023, President Trump’s campaign made it clear that only President Trump and the campaign, and NOT any other organization or former staff, represent policies for the second term,” Alvarez said in a statement. Still, staffing the administration could be a major place where Project 2025’s work plays into a Trump administration, even if the Trump campaign swatted the effort aside. “If Trump is re-elected, as we hope he will be, there will be thousands of appointments,” said Steven Groves, who helped put together the Project 2025 policy book. But before my second was born, my family moved to rural New Hampshire for my husband's job. The kids' school (a town over) is 20 minutes from home, while the grocery store is 25. When the kids inevitably break a bone during their adventures, we need to drive 45 minutes to the hospital. Elysian unveils fully electric 90-passenger plane

“You shouldn’t assume that an electric plane is going to look like the (most successful) planes of today,” de Vries says, adding that a common misconception is that electric planes should essentially be electrified versions of the lightest regional turboprops. What you end up with is a plane that in weight proportions, for example, looks much more like old 1960s jets. Israeli-founded Eviation has flight-tested its plane, called Alice – a fully electric nine-passenger commuter plane with a range of 250 nautical miles that the company aims to put into service in 2027. “There are over 5,000 aircraft in service today in the E9X’s size category of 70 to 100 seats,” he says. If Elysian can surmount the technology and infrastructure challenges, he adds, it will then face the commercial challenge of entering a fiercely competitive market.

Driving uninsured has various consequences, including fines, license suspension, and even jail time. If you drive without car insurance, your insurance rates could increase when you purchase or renew it. It can be tempting to skip the extra cost that car insurance adds to the price of owning a car. License suspension:Many states suspend your license or registration (or both) for months if you're caught driving uninsured. If you live in an area with high rates of uninsured drivers, this could cause issues for you.

Named for the first two letters of "breast" and "cancer," a positive result would place my odds of developing breast cancer at 87%. For me, an adult, it was a wake-up call to get ahead of breast cancer. We also had a family history of breast cancer in common, but her mother, who'd been diagnosed in her 20s, had caught it early and survived. And most important of all, on a scale of one to infinity, how relieved did she feel now that breast cancer was no longer a threat? I asked for the BRCA test, and my doctor agreedDuring my next prenatal checkup, I asked my doctor to arrange a BRCA test.

New York CNN —Elon Musk told advertisers last year to “go f**k yourself.” This year, he is showcasing a much different attitude. The erratic billionaire, realizing that he very much needs major advertisers to power X, was in the South of France on Wednesday, attending Cannes Lions, the world’s largest advertising festival. Put together, it’s is no mystery why major brands have taken their advertising dollars elsewhere. Musk even said at the time that the damage to X’s bottom line was so great, it could eventually kill the company. Musk likely does not want to see the platform go the way of the woolly mammoth, which is why he is now trying to woo advertisers back.

Instead, it's about how well you can prioritize your commitments, deadlines, projects and work, says Juliette Han, a Harvard-trained neuroscientist and adjunct professor at Columbia Business School. If you want a second opinion on your job audit, Han suggests consulting either a colleague or your manager. "Tell them you're evaluating your current workload to maximize your productivity and focus on some bigger goals," she says. For example: You might be less responsive to emails, but if you're using that free time on deep-focus work, you're probably turning in better-quality work. "Thinking through all the components of your workload and how these help — or hurt — your career development is super important," Han stresses.

The US just experienced the warmest "meteorological winter" on record, NOAA said last week. It also led to unpredictable consumer demand, causing headaches for retailers and other businesses. For Dick's, warmer weather means that sales skew toward lightweight fleeces rather than pricier down parkas, she said. A retailer in South Dakota surveyed by the Federal Reserve said that even though the warmer weather led to higher foot traffic, sales of winter gear and equipment fell. Some Tesla Cybertruck owners noticed their new stainless steel vehicles have small rust specks. A few months after deliveries began, some members of a Cybertruck-owners forum started complaining about rust spots on the vehicle. After all, the Cybertruck is the first stainless steel vehicle to be produced since DMC made the stainless steel DeLorean and later halted production in 1982. The extra upkeep isn't entirely unexpected for experienced Tesla owners, many of whom have taken on the role of early adopters. If Tesla hits Musk's ambitious production targets for the Cybertruck, Tesla is likely to face less forgiving buyers, automotive analyst Ivan Drury told BI.

An economics expert tells BI that cash still remains crucial for "certain segments of consumers." AdvertisementWhen it comes to how Americans prefer to spend their money, cash is actually not king. That represents a consistent decline in cash payments since the pandemic in 2020, which saw many shifts in consumer behavior, including an acceleration of online shopping. The following year, the study showed that cash made up 19% of payments and has not recovered since. Cash is still king of some thingsEconomics experts say that despite increasing reliance on cards, cash remains resilient and an important payment method for many consumers.

HALLE, Belgium (AP) — Farmers blocked more traffic arteries across Belgium, France and Italy on Wednesday, as they sought to disrupt trade at major ports and other economic lifelines. They also moved closer to Brussels on the eve of a major European Union summit, in a continued push for better prices for their produce and less bureaucracy in their work. I think we are addressing two very important (concerns) of them right now,” European Commission Vice President Maroš Šefčovič said. Despite the widespread inconveniences, governments in the EU are treating protests, which have been mostly peaceful, with extreme caution.

The difference between libertarianism and libertinism can be summed up as the difference between rights and desires. A libertarian is concerned with her own liberty but also knows that this liberty ends where yours begins. A healthy libertarianism can still be individualistic, but it’s also deeply concerned with both personal virtue and the rights of others. Not all libertarians are pro-life, but a pro-life libertarian will recognize the humanity and dignity of both mother and child. I don’t think the pro-life movement has fully reckoned with the political and cultural fallout from the libertine right-wing response to the Covid pandemic.

DETROIT (AP) — General Motors' Cruise autonomous vehicle unit is recalling all 950 of its cars to update software after it dragged a pedestrian to the side of a San Francisco street in early October. The company said in documents posted by U.S. safety regulators on Wednesday that with the updated software, Cruise vehicles will remain stationary in similar cases in the future. The Oct. 2 crash forced Cruise to suspend driverless operations nationwide after California regulators found that its cars posed a danger to public safety. In the crash, a human-driven vehicle hit a pedestrian, sending the person into the path of a Cruise autonomous vehicle. Cruise says in documents that it already has updated software in test vehicles that are being supervised by human safety drivers.
